Work life balance or resign? Definitely resignation!

So we had a town hall meet today with our entire vertical. And we reached to a point of AMA’s where people had asked some concerns directly with the CEO.

There was a question, that how can achieve work Life balance to which he responded saying that it is not possible, we want to become the best company that we will surly become, but if you are expecting work life balance put down your papers today. Next there are people living very far away (30-40 km in banagalore) and asked for wfh on Saturdays, he said that please shift near by don’t use that as an excuse for anything. (I don’t know if he realises that people with with their families here and the deposit you would have to pay just be near your job location) Adding on to job security, he said we have not fired anyone, if you are performing as expected you don’t have to worry. (They have fired over 15 people last month) He also said that we need to focus on our work and only be more worried about how to be more productive and nothing else. So we are going to continue working hard and we are not going to make any changes. Another person asked about appraisals, and we got a disappointing reaction again from him saying that you should not be worried about it, but won’t be getting any appraisals in coming time.

I am not sure what is happening here anymore!

Wow. Bro, I'd recommend jumping ship at the best opportunity. I worked for a similar megalomaniac and things went south very soon. My work-life balance went for a toss, workplace was toxic af. Meanwhile, people were fired left-right-center, at a drop of a hat. Team members were expected to step up and absorb work of those laid off. Though the salary was good, the bargain was not. Finally, dropped my papers after getting severely burnt out. I didn't wait for another offer in hand, but man the bliss and relief I felt during my notice period was incomparable.

Second this. RUN PLEASE. Company culture doesn’t get enough importance and you sadly only learn about its value once you’re in a shit place like this.
