Why the rant you ask?? Heard a CEO say to his Leaders "Why are you leaders not forcing your people to work weekends, This is so pathetic"
I was like ... wait what ...?? But then i realise the grey matter can show some "really" blessed people a loading screen at the most opportune time.
Fuck working late, it totally destroys one's health over time.
To those indifferent or in support of overtime, I always share a thought experiment: if all of us (except for some essential jobs that require late shifts) stopped working those extra hours, would it really have any major consequences or would the industries/businesses/supply chains just learn to adapt? I really do not think most of us are working on anything that critical that would justify overtime. And wasn't the point of technological progress to lead us to live progressively more comfortable lives?
The only reasonable conclusion for forced overtime, then, is that it just serves to fill up business owners' pockets, which is such an extremely disappointing realization for anyone who holds their fellow humans to a higher standard.

Stop it at the start. Don't put yourself out there, so they start considering your extra effort as normal or default....
People are being forced to work on weekends in the name of "escalations". And instead of it being a request, it is an indirect threat. We are just mere freshers and do not know how to deal with this. How do we navigate this?
