What is your best Independence Day memory?

Remember as a child how excited I would be, and how patriotic it would feel. Now it's just a holiday. A long weekend. I don't know why my feelings/patriotism went to die. I'm curious but, what does it mean to you?

I’ll start first, Within my lifetime, we sent a spacecraft to the moon. We also succeeded in our Mars mission on the first try. There are seldom moments like such that remind us that we are one country. We are a force to be reckoned with, continually working to move the needle of progress. We’ve achieved so much and there’s way more to achieve. But I’m hopeful. We’ve gotten this far and we will go further than ever before.

The date when India said to the world: “We’ll take it from here” 🥰

Question came up because it’s Independence Day 🇮🇳 A lot of us have had the privilege to be able to go abroad, but ended up choosing not to. For me, it was just believing there’s enough growth here in the coming few decades + friends/family Looking to hear if the reduced brain drain is actually true, and what makes people stay.

Two parts of the movie First half has a scene of Hrithik showering (I don't mind, but duh why!) Deepika is trying so hard to flirt with Hrithik, but he doesn't budge (Girls and their obsession to be attracted to unavailable men!) Second half goes crazy A detailed section on martyrs and their unpredictable lives (I cried buckets 🪣 ) A Beti bachao-beti padhao message too (cried there too because beti relates) Such a great setup for Republic Day tomorrow! 🇮🇳 Anyone else watched it?

Found this image and I am down the memory lane. I remember always asking parents for 1-2 rs coins and then eagerly waiting for the ticket with weight and a quote. Used to tease my sister if my quote is about success and her is about smile or life 🤣🤣🤣 Also in the movies, this is where explosives 🧨 are found with a kid standing over it and then hero comes and saves the day 😁.
