More introverted society,

Let's own for a change,
let's make another neighbour friend,
Let there be friends talking, while phone charging,
Let there be a call to mom back in town,
More street cricket and bad Minton,
Another dice of Ludo and flicking carrom,
Let us wake up early
Let us eat timely

Let us sit together sometime,
Sit together and speak the burden in our hearts,
Alone in my Room I recite this rhyme
Someday let's go back to the start....

So I ran these 2 surveys on GV. The one on the left is for millennials and the other one is for GenZ. 

I really thought that the GenZ narrative was false. Guess I was wrong.

This is such a stark difference. What do you think is the reason for this?

GenZ values WLB almost twice as much as millennials. I have data.

Gen Z generation, those born between 1990 and 2010, is bringing to the workforce a different set of values, behaviors, and expectations, creating ripples throughout workplaces.

Hello folks, with the exciting long weekend ahead, I hope you have all made plans for it. As a consultant, I'm always busy with clients, and the recent poor market conditions have increased the workload and pressure on my team. Consequently, I haven't taken any leave in the last six months. 
Now, I'm considering a trip to Rishikesh (as they say, Dilli wale either go to Rishikesh or Manali 😅). Can you please help me with a good excuse to request Monday's leave from my manager without much discussion? 
I'm open to any realistic, unrealistic, clever, or humorous suggestions.

Why do you need an excuse? Don't you have leave saved up?  
  
 Just say you're going to be OOO on Monday. Don't feel guilty. You are owed leaves. You have earned leaves. And you should use it.

Not sure you folks will agree with me, but people in IT especially the one's in senior positions (Director level) guys are running companies in 2024 but their thought process is somewhere stuck in the late 90's/early 2000's. 
They feel like what they have experienced or what they have been through is applicable in the current generation too. Be it from the perspective of working long hours or when having discussions around respectable increments/promotions. If we start giving them reasons as to how things are not working out they will end up going like "In our times it was difficult to get even 8% hike, We worked extra hours, we had limited access to technology etc etc".
How hard is it for them to realise that we live in the 21st century? Things have changed rapidly in the past 15-20 years from when they were working in the market. It's difficult to even convince them on anything as they have already made up their mind on how world was working, how it should work and how it will work in the future. 
Hope I was clear enough, but this is a serious problem in today's MNC (Sadly in some of the well performing startups)

Generation gap or mindset difference?

Most young people today see social media influencing as a viable career, and they'd be willing to quit their current jobs for the chance to chase it.

Some 57% of Gen Zers said they would like to become an influencer if given the chance, according to a new report from Morning Consult, a decision intelligence company. That's a notch higher than the 41% of adults overall who'd opt for the emerging career path. 

The explosion of TikTok makes it all seem more possible, says Ellyn Briggs, brands analyst at Morning Consult: "No-frills, direct-to-cam and low-editing content does well on TikTok, so it's broadened the amount of people who feel influencing is accessible to them."

Put another way, more than half of Gen Zers "believe people can easily make a career in influencing," she adds.
