B.Tech or Skill development?

Folks, need advice. My son has got admits in Manipal, Mechanical branch and MIT WPU, Pune Mechanical with Robotics. He is keen on a Career in software. Has been programming since 11th grade. What advice would you give him to move to software? And any feedback on colleges ?

One of my cousins has got this gyaan from youtube influencers that whatever we learn in BTech is of no use and doing BTech in Computer Science is a pure waste of time as jobs are given primarily based upon the skills we possess as a developer and not based upon our degree. Getting influenced by this, he has made up his mind to withdraw his admission even though he has completed 4 semesters of his BTech. He is of the firm opinion that he cannot pursue both college and work on his dev skills at the same time. And the 2 years which he will save by not completing his degree, he can utilise it well to get a job and reach far better places in his career as a software engineer. My uncle and aunt are worried and have asked me to make him understand what he is doing is incorrect. Please post in comments guys what is your view on this. Also I feel the influencers just for the sake of YT views are manipulating gullible kids.

I'm 24 year old unemployed. I graduated in 2021 with BTech IT from tier 3 college. Initially I was preparing for UPSC exam but I gave up after few months and now for a year I have been learning Front End Development and have learnt HTML, CSS, JS & ReactJS but unable to find a job. I made a lot of mistakes in past and didn't learned from them. I'm not good at anything. I apply daily at different platforms ex: wellfound (formerly angellist), hirist, hirect, instahyre, cutshort, individual mass hiring companies off campus but from nowhere I'm getting interview call even if I get call I'm not able to clear interview. Now the thing is my parents gave me ultimatun to get out of the house by April 1st they don't care what type of job I do. I don't understand what can I do now. I'm willing to do hardwork and learn from my mistakes I just need little guidance to get on a track. If anyone can guide me on how to get a job or any advice. I would really appreciate it. My brother has just completed 7th semester in CS from a tier 3 college. He has good aptitude and problem solving skills. He is not very passionate about anything.he just wants to learn something in demand and earn well. He just knows the basics taught as per curriculum. What is the best way for him to choose proper career path ( front end, back end, full stack etc) and learn stuff and crack good package roles. I am 22yo and just graduated from a tier 3 college with Btech degree. Currently placed in a startup as a Frontend Engineer CTC 7LPA remote. I am confused should I prepare for masters and do that or should I work hard in FE and switch after 1-2 year for better pay. And what one should do? Masters in Cs or MBA , I know both are different but still confused.

I'm trying to find a job in tech from some time but didn't receive any positive resposne yet. although i have one yr of experience and after that there's more than a year of gap and it seems impossible now to get a job back even in tech support for me. I'm thinking of joining any good institute in ameerpet for upskilling either in cloud or data science field. do anyone know which institites are actually good in terms of giving proper training and (might be placement support, it'll be good add on) ? if anyone knows about it or already studying there could guide me for finding best institutes in ameerpet and what would be the approx cost (institute + living expenses) ? i know there are many options online and free but it seems i am stuck in choice paralysis and procrastination that once i will get a job then i will start learning along and i end up just applying for jobs and studying for that only but there's no luck for me right now. so, yeah if anyone could help it would be grateful. thanks.

Currently i am in my final year of BCA and I have one year with me to either get a job or internship or prepare for NIMCET (entrance for mca in NIT). My doubt is whether i should spare 3 years just for the brand value of NIT tag or gain experience in a job. In a ideal situation if a get a good package of 20 lpa after 3 years of MCA ,will i be able to match the same package in 3 years without masters. My skills are average,still working on it.

Hi, I am currently 22, graduated recently from a tier 2 institute and currently working at a US based startup earning 18lpa ( almost all base ) + rsu's, lately my family have been nagging me to do a postgrad, I am confused weather I should do an MBA, MS or not do a postgrad at all considering the years I will miss in workex. What should be my best course of action considering ROI in the next 10-15 years ?? P.S. Currently I am not sure what my interest lies in, but just try to excel at whatever comes my way.
