This is absolutely harsh from Google
The App Store and Play Store are a duopoly and we have allowed them way too much power. Atleast Android has options but Apple is a complete walled garden and they won the lawsuit against Epic like wtf
They built the iPhone and the App Store. Their playground their rules. Walled garden or colosseum, it’s their choice. If developers like access to iOS users they must play by the rules

Every business & startups like Naukri, Shadi.com and Bharat Matrimony change/adjust their prices and what they offer to keep up with what's happening and what they need to run their businesses, Google's doing something similar with its Play Store rules. They're really trying to make things fair for everyone. Google gave app makers 3+ yrs to get on board with these new rules, showing they're trying to be reasonable. They even made a plan where if you don't want to use Google's payment system, you can use 3rd Party and only pay 11% to Google, or not use in-app payments at all and handle everything through the web. This way, they're keeping the app world open and flexible, making sure it stays a good place for both the folks making the apps and the people using them.
I second this. Its not charity. Plus google is flexible and these companies don't rant about apple and pays 30%

Kuku FM's Cofounder called out on this
https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7169310092503318528/
But he doesn't share the terms that Google is asking for.
Epic Games had the guts to lead a similar battle with Apple Play store.
@Micheal_Scott, you have apps on both, can you share what terms do these ask for?

Depending on the size and reach of the app, in-app payment are charged anywhere between 15-30 percent, android charges one time developer fee and can list any number of apps, IOS I think has a fixed yearly developer renewal fee.
For this they provide the entire ecosystem access, like push notifications free upto a tier.
Any app developer planning to monetise should factor this while pricing their product
That awkward moment when you realise that Kuku's PR team when all out using Google being an investor in them for headlines in TechCrunch and Yahoo News.🤢

They were given 3 years' notice, now these startups should rather name themselves crybabies.
To comply with app store rules. Ironically, they shut up and pay the required 30% to apple, but paying just 11% ( using third party payment gateway ) they become crybabies. Google provides a digital platform to find and download their apps and so charges for it.
It is a much smaller amount compared to apple's app store fees and you can always sideload apps in Android if you wish.
Very good.
All these soft porn, vulgar, call center
Spamming gutter tier apps should be permanently banned.

I feel our politicians take the bad thing from US and China and made a unique way to kill innovation. Simple cash for vote ans caste politics
Ironically Stage got screwed by Facebook back in 2016-17 and now by Google 🥲
I literally installed naukri 2 days ago and created a new account to job hunt here, and see if my luck hits well.
Go through their privacy policy, they sell your data to advertisers. You'll start getting spam calls etc.

I don't get it. Platform services should come at a cost. They own the OS so they shouldn't have to allow alternate app stores or 3rd party payments. What's the counter opinion?
Same founders are paying 30% on apple and not crying. Atleast google offer flexibility.

Damn, I just bought Matrimony.com shares.
Most of the tech companies are from US and they’re gonna rule the game. I liked the way how Chinese companies developed their own tools to fight US giants. These way, indigenous companies get to flourish.
For almost 2 decades, majority of mobile phones have either Android or iOS. There is hardly any competition. They’re definitely gonna put their rules.. that’s a great way to generate revenue and smartphone usage is not gonna decrease unless something replaces it(augmented tech).
Main problem was that these all were getting unnecessary access and stilling data

Naukri layoffs when
Yeh Anupam mittal itna chindi chor kyon hai? Shark tank par crores invest Karen ki baat karta hai aur yahan bheek kyon mang raha hai
Imo nothing harsh about it. They have the control over the market and they are reaping benefits of it. These apps were given sufficient time to comply to in-app billing policy. No one raised their voice then and when the Google took action, these business are acting as crybabies.
