[Long Post] I think I understand why Grapevine works well.

How did you come to know about it? What made you download it? And why are you still using it? Building anything in social is so hard. I want to know how they got the users.

I’ll go first. To me, it’s all about access. Access to authentic ideas. The best search result you get on Google is high SEO but low authenticity. On LinkedIn, there are so many people but everyone is shilling a course or 1:1 resume reviews. Mostly it has become a place which started as vanity signalling Like ( I have started a new role…, I have been accepted at …, I have received offers from F, A, N and G and I’m joining G.) And now people pushing mindless content with “Agree?” or “Comment Interested”. Somehow, everyone is truly inauthentic to please a wider audience and say the exact same generic gyaan to maximise engagement. For now, Grapevine is where people are genuinely themselves and I get to hear interesting things that you get to hear near the coffee machine. Kinda feels like we’re all a big community where we all contribute and learn new things about the professional landscape around us. Godspeed Grapevine. 🚀

Currently I am discovering gv. I am loving it. You don't get doxxed(🤞) + you get to chat and converse with others like it's a WhatsApp group. Kinda love this. Is this just me? or 👀 If so, then what is the idea of social media. To bring more people to a platform or make it a limited area where you don't get to be toxic and making the space enjoyable

I feel that when you open up to people about your traumas and insecurities, people are only going to use it against you in an arguement. While you might argue that not everyone does that, and I would be the first one to agree to that. But you somehow stop trusting everyone, even your shadow , when your favorite people become your most bitter life lessons. The one who feels emotions always ends up suffering more. In the hindsight, it feels as if being a bare minimum "good human" is a curse. However, I have been using grapevine to vent out and connect with strangers and so far I have only met supportive and empathetic human beings (most of them). Despite being covered in the sheild of anonymity, most people have only been respectful and kind. This proves that we, as humans , are only meant to love each other. Hatred is futile. Empathy is inherent while hatred is "cultivated". I hope grapevine founders dont stumble across this post else theyll start charging premium fees when they realize how highly people speak of this platform lol

Why does this community work? Or should I ask, does it really work? Why do people post on it? It could have been just another subreddit of anonymity was the only factor playing here. Do you guys crave for grapes (currency)? What makes you come back and open this app time and again? Just trying to understand the community psychology here.

I have been on grapevine for some months now and this is the best community building app I have ever seen I can talk my heart out and the people here actually come out to support and share their journey and experiences as well. Hats off to the founder who has made grapevine

TL;DR We stay on the internet nowadays. I am doing so since 2009. From orkut to fb, Twitter to insta, WhatsApp to Tg and Quora to Reditt. If u look closely all are Western apps, few entrepreneurs tried to make the Indian SM app but it turned cringe n toxic like hood etc. I was silent reader here for 3m, then started interacting actively 5m back. Saw this platform evolving from 0 to 1. Hell a lot of improvement. But what I loved maximum is how beautifully people help each other, from referral to rant, Job opening to layoff, CTC discussion to crazy comparison, love to hate, left to right, PM to Sde, Whitefield to Koramangala and what not... We have everything on a tap from food to cab and dating to matrimonial still we are the unhappiest gen. GrapeVine( thanks to @Micheal_Scott )kinda platform is helping to kill that loneliness and toxicity of one's life. Always there to discuss and talk about semiconductors, ai, economy, philosophy, marketing, music n memes! 🥂 Cheers and have a nice day.
