MediBuddy made Period leaves a joke!
I don’t see anything wrong with this. It’s clear that the agenda is not to give additional leave benefit, but to normalise women taking period leaves. At present, women usually use a different reason (headache/fever/backache etc) to apply for leave, while the actual reason is period pain/discomfort. Not every step is meant for a material benefit, you have to see the intangible value to the society.

You aren't guaranteed to fall sick for a week every month. Women are. Giving them extra leaves hurts no one.
It hurts the business. Get less pay and fall sick. If you are productive only 90% of the working day, get 90% salary. "Equality" comes with equal responsibility

I don't understand what's wrong with the stability part? You are a team not a family. If you don't perform you should be out.
Wrong the way he answered it. A lot of red flags. He said that some people leave in 3 months too. A lot of other things.
Performance shouldn't mean that I should work 12 hours a day for my job. If the job is 9 hours, I should be judged on 9 hours and not relative to someone who is working 12 hours.

This is some BJP level rebranding.
The content is "No extra period leaves, continue using sick leaves" but the text is "articulated" in a manner which presents this as a new and revolutionary idea.

This is just a part of the increasing trend to be a virtue signalling woke. Women don't need special period leaves. Period. If women need them, let's not call ourselves equal with men.
Imagine being your balls being tugged on very hard every week for 5 days, where you can’t sit, stand or breathe at times and you still have to work straight for 8 hours minimum a day, sitting on that goddam table?
Do they want us to be ashamed for taking period leaves? Like why this bifurcation of period and non period leaves under sick leaves? They aren’t increasing leaves and just pretending to be woke 🤦🏽♀️
People who are saying that this is to ensure that Menstruators are not given unfair advantage over non-menstruators should understand one thing:
A leave when you are doubling up with pain is no 'advantage'.
Also, this cannot stay textbook definition of 'fair' because Nature has not been fair in this case.
Also, if these guys want people to spend their sick leaves on it, why call it period leaves at all? If one has terrible periods, they will call in sick. Period.

12 sick leaves
Not long ago, I cleared a woman for team lead position. But the HR rejected her. When I talked to the HR, she said "the candidate has a 1 year old child. She will take a lot of leaves. We cannot have a team lead by a person whose availability cannot be guaranteed. She may also opt for second child soon and go on 6 months paid leave".
While maternity and child care leaves are most welcome on humanitarian grounds, on the business side it's affecting hiring of women to positions of power. Women should stop asking for special treatment if they want equal opportunities - thats the only solution I can see for now.
