If yes, who prepares the contract and what should be it's contents? - should any specific clauses be defined? - should I take up upfront fees? - how to handle them validating work is done or not? - should I not keep it hourly? Should I define the fees based on the work done?

Hey, I think I there was a similar question before, but missed responding on that answering your questions here - should I and the person sign a contract? If yes, who prepares the contract and what should be it's contents? Yes, Please get the contract, use AI (Gemini/ GPT), a basic template would do. Most cases you won't fight if they don't stick to it, but best to have it on paper - should any specific clauses be defined? List the scope of work, payment terms, termination, disagreement and confidentiality - should I take up upfront fees? If you can, you should. This will keep them looking forward to the work, and you'll be interested in getting the balance payment. Work wins 👍 - how to handle them validating work is done or not? Define metrics. This much to be done by this time, make it result based than hour based. Define those results based on what you can achieve. Under commit, over deliver! - should I not keep it hourly? Should I define the fees based on the work done? Would suggest project based fees, but please consider how many hours you may take to finish the project. We tend to overestimate ourselves when charging on projects, and then get stuck on some error for hours. So if you can track work with hours, charge hourly. Else project/ outcome based should be better.

Addition to this, you can discuss for how long they will need your support for maintenance or corrections after project is delivered. Keep the timeline short, or charge accordingly. All the best 🙌 Projects are always great learning experiences

Is it safe to sign offer letter?

Hi members, Need your help in understanding future risk if I sign contract offer letter for a second job. I am full time working presently but due to sudden financial crisis caused by a business loss of my father I want to support him with extra income from secondary job, I gave and cleared interview for US client . The company is new setup and I thought I was offered a freelance role but now the company has shared a offer letter and the owner said he is ok with me submitting PAN Card of my wife/mother for salary to be credited . There is no PF account setup involved and has assured me there would be no conflict with my first job. He is asking to sign offer letter and come into employment with him as he wants to start his company as a full fledged org starting with hiring freelancers. Is it advisable to go ahead or is there risk of first job org coming to track it or the owner can blackmail me if he turns out to be fraud. I know ethically wrong and this is my first time trying second job due to circumstances. Please advise how to safeguard myself.

But now if I want to join a new organisation, so what all documents do I require of my freelancing while joining any new organisation? Ps: I won’t be having salary slips or transaction records of freelancing, as all the project transactions were done in cash. Can anyone help with this? Thanks

Can my employer find out if I started freelancing in upwork? Upwork asks for pan details. So by any chance my employer can find out from the income tax portal or something?
