I want to move out of my parents home

I am 33M, started working at 20. Earned 87LPA when I was dropped off in June 23. I am a very responsible person who had taken care of everything in the family for quite some time. My parents and relatives and everyone else who know me well, know this and kost have appreciated this at some point. My sister separated from her husband 6 months after my marriage and had been living with me and my wife since then till COVID hit. My mother has anger issues and my father is very obedient to her. I love my parents and they loved me I think. Post COVID I moved to my hometown (because family) and things started going downhill. My mother will almost entire day find every faults in my wife and share it with everyone with an angry tone. I just listened to her initially for 2 years but at times I told her that it's enough. Now she has started fighting me. After the fight I would go and apologize to her knowing that it's not my fault just to make things right. This time when my mother fought with me she taunted me that you will come back and apologize. This hurted me even more than the fight. Now I am not going back to apologize and she's escalating it every day. Convinced my father and my eldest sister(happily married) that I am a bad son. Shares messages like "maa bap ko pareshan krne vale bachho ko kya fal milta hai" in WhatsApp groups. She has even asked me to vacate home. I am unemployed at the moment and I told her I will when I have a job. I don't know how to deal with it. I can't convince people in the family that she has anger issues.

It does sound selfish, and probably is, too. But I think it is the best form of independence while earning. You can buy anything you want, no permission (maybe scolding if splurging) You get home food everyday You are there for your parents all along Hopefully would be helpful in case of emergencies Plus, save a lot on rent, maid, food, among other stuff. P.S. I have lived alone (in Bangalore) where I cooked and cleaned my little (rented) house. But to cook for one person either makes you eat leftovers or order take outs. Home to office to home, I was working mechanically, not hearing my own voice for days.

So my sibling is about to graduate with a degree in Computer Science from a T2 college in a few months and wants to now do MS in the US because of three reasons: 1. Low levels of violence against women(Sexual Assault) [IMPORTANT!!] 2. Want to do innovative work in the US instead of working on copycat products in India 3. Ambition of living in the US long term because of free-er culture But my parents have flat out refused to fund the education or even help her with a loan due to regressive mentality (nahi jaana baahar, 2-3 saal kaam karo aur shaadi karo chup chaap) She has accepted a job offer for now and will make 14L/year. What are her options? Should she drop the idea of MS abroad?

21M working from home as a SDE. I do live with my parents in a tier 3 city. Most of my time is just spent working on my desk. This is just depressing as I don't have many friends to hangout and even those I have are busy in their own life. I make good and can easily afford to go and live in a tier 1 city but will that be a good option leaving my parents and knowing most of my time would be spent indoors. What would you do if you were in my shoes.

I am from a conservative family, and during my first long-distance, my mother had extreme problems with her. We broke up recently, and my mother has not changed. She still stalks our socials and thinks I am talking to or meeting her as if it is a sin to do that. I came home from a business trip yesterday, and I want to go out back again to escape from this. I cannot spend my late 20s like this anymore. I am a freelancer, so I do not have an excuse to move out, but living like this is suffocating. Any advice?

I have been battling depression from childhood when I didn't even know it was called that. I am trying to switch jobs, I got 1-2 offers as well but I am not happy at all. I stay at home with my parents and work currently. I fear moving to a new place for a new job all alone would be very hazardous for my depression maybe. I tried therapy multiple times, didn't work, tried yoga, reading books, meditation, yet nothing seems to work. I double doubt on myself working in the IT field as well and think I don't wanna do this, i don't know whether it's cos of my depression or me actually hating the field cos I felt bad during my college days as well in anything i did. I think of offing myself to attain peace and come out of my head from all the overthinking all the time but I understand i can't cos I have to stay well for my mom and dad who love me the most Anyone has any solutions (maybe proven ones) to this matter? My current job is consuming me completely. I don't get to upskill myself. Therefore, I am stuck in this vicious cycle where I want to leave my organization to work in a better environment along with skilled colleagues. However, to do this, I will have to upskill myself. Would love to hear your experience if you have been in a similar situation. How did things turn out for you eventually?

I'm a 28-year-old married (Wife is also working) individual currently residing in Kolkata, where the living expenses are relatively low. I have 5 years of work experience, and my current compensation package is 28 lakhs fixed and 3 lakhs variable (approximately 1.95 lakhs in-hand salary after deductions). With no liabilities or responsibilities, my monthly expenses are around 40,000 INR, and I manage to invest around 1.5 lakhs per month. Currently, I enjoy a stable job and live with my parents, who take care of most of my living expenses. However, I'm considering the possibility of switching jobs and moving to another city, which would require me to bear the additional costs of rent, food, and other living expenses on my own. Question: Given my current financial situation and the potential for increased living costs in a new city, should I explore a job switch and relocation? Or should I continue with my current stable job and living arrangement in Kolkata, where my expenses are minimal? What factors should I consider when making this decision?
