Am I the only one..
Recently seeing alot many posts on LinkedIn about companies and startups are hiring interns in large numbers for core functions like tech, product, biz etc.
Am I the only one who is thinking that companies simply want to get the work done using these interns and avoiding hiring full time employees? Signs of not to good days.
Also winter internships were not these common or were they? 🫤
Majdoori wohi, soch nayi.

Aaahh someone said it finally, yes!! I even let out my frustrations about this infront of a 100+ audience in some meet-up and the panel kinda ended up defending it quoting reasons like "people are willing to take such commitments and sometimes people * have * to take such steps to stand out/get relevant experience faster/stay ahead of competition" n what not.

So i was looking for a job in June 2023, a Bangalore based startup offered me 20k as stipend (after taking 3 rounds of interviews, multiple assignments - all for a full time role). Some founders are really fucked up.
Whatt!!
In the name of experience, this is exploitation.
I hope you haven’t submitted full fledged assignments which they use for real.
One of them was a full fledged 10 pager. When I said no to the intern offer, they were ready to negotiate on the comp, but I had enough by them. Luckily found another job within 10 days which is paying me 6x more.
True. Joined a company in summer and relieved recently😔
Stay strong!
