Any engineers from Atlan here?
Wanted to learn about the engineering culture, WLB and your experiences there
I'm one of them who joined last year. Honest opinion:
Pros:
- Already hyperscale and good revenue. Closing big companies like anything
- You'll get to work on some cutting edge tech and 0 to 1 problems.
- Leadership is hands-on. You'll see directors solving tech problems on a daily basis. They're not typical managers you see out there.
- They're out there to win and don't shy from anything. ANYTHING.
- One of the smartest lot of engineers you'll see. They weren't able to solve one of the issues so they hired the entire maintainer group of the open source project.
- Insane level of problem solving.
Cons:
-
High performance pressure.
-
WLB is there but can get bad once in a while. Depends on team largely.
-
Company has high burn. Though they're at hyperscale mode now and making good revenue, just a point to keep in mind
-
Risk of being let go is decently high because of performance.
If you want to know anything specific, let me know
Are they remote or office ?
Remote
I don’t trust that company, they are one of those who would give you an assignment and then ghost you once the work is done.
Yeah, it’s a fairly good company compared to the Indian startup ecosystem. I saw the team grow, wlb can be bad at times.
Expect atleast one really rough quarter every year(>50 hours/week).
Although, you will learn a fair bit and get to execute on a lot of technical problems with high degree of ownership.
Hey, how did you land a job here?
