I’m currently a final year CSE student pursuing my 6-month internship at Amazon. I don’t know if I’ll get PPO after my internship or not. Heard that our seniors from the 2023 batch were not offered PPOs after their 6-month internships. 
Would want your views on if I should start applying to other companies on the side as a plan B. Also, on-campus placements at my college aren’t looking that good this year in terms of the packages being offered. I’m looking for any off-campus openings for the role of an SDE at the moment, if any. International roles are welcome.

Also honestly does FAANG even hire freshers off-campus in 2024? Or is it just that the chances are very low.

Had my offer rescinded last month due to bad market conditions. Have applied to multiple places with no luck to even get a single interview since last 40-45 days.
So, I would like to know which companies are hiring freshers, for SDE or product roles as of now.
How should I approach this situation to land a job?

Currently I am working as an SDE - 1(8 base) in gurugram, I received an offer for an automation engineer role from Sprinklr (16.5 base). I am 2023 grad from IIIT and have a good knowledge of DSA and System Design. Some days back I received an SDE-1 offer from a Singapore stealth startup(13 base) but couldn't join them. Now I have this offer, I am still looking to switch to SDE-1 position, but due to the market situation not getting enough interview calls. So is it advisable to join an automation role and look for the SDE roles in parallel? since I believe that sprinklr tag will help me in getting the opportunities but I don't know whether my resume will be shortlisted for the SDE roles if I have an automation role in my resume. Please give your honest opinion and help me to make the decision..

I'm about to graduate in June 2023.

I am currently working as intern at Microsoft (Offcampus),  the chances of PPO are very high but I don't like the work and project here, so I might not take it.

Before this I interned at a fintech startup (Offcampus) for 7 months, where I would have loved to join full time but my PPO got cancelled due to sudden hiring freeze in the company :(

Applied to entry level SDE jobs in a lot of companies but got no replies or the typical "There is a hiring freeze, we'll contact you once it ends."

Hi everyone, I am from a Tier-1 engineering college, looking for jobs in Product space. Any idea, what kind of companies/which sector is hiring right now? College placements have been really bad this year, and applying off-campus has been a real pain (no replies, calls from companies).

This is not the first time I am applying off campus, I know it's a tiring process especially at a fresher level, but this time it has been worse. If your company is hiring/if you know anywhere I should apply please help!🙏

I am currently doing my internship at Amazon which is most likely not gonna get converted to a full time offer (provided the market conditions), I have another offer from EY for the role of Technology Consultant which would mainly involve work in data analysis. I have heard that it will be very tough to come back to an sde role from a consultant role. So I am in a dilemma of what to do next?
P.S. I am more inclined towards an SDE role due to the growth it provides.

Too much of a trajectory change from SDE to Consultant

I am a final year student and will be graduating in may and I am now confused because I have been doing internships now for more than a year, first internship was of 6 months as an backend developer and now second internship is still going on and this March 3 I will complete 8 months here as an ML Intern, and now my current company which is a startup has told that they will think about my PPO when they will raise series A in April may and they have hired many senior engineers and have expanded the than to size of 40 and now I have got an another intern position at an YC startup, so what should I do, should I join there as an intern considering the stipend is same which is ₹45k  per month and it is also remote but the problem is I will be graduating and I don't have a full time offer, I do have skills but still not having an full time offer bugs me, what should I do please? give some advice.

Hey guys a master's student here . So it's finally that time of year placements have started and the first companies to arrive are the hardware companies like micron , TA etc 

So here's the question is it ok to start your career in these companies considering they are not SDE profiles ? I am aware that the highly specialised roles that these companies offer will end up becoming dead end in longer run . They are offering position only for the masters students 

How difficult would it be to transition into different core cs  companies? 

My coding skills are not that great , still grinding out leetcode ? 

Should I just end up joining these hardware companies or wait and try to crack sde positions ? (The competition is extremely high for those companies and undergrads are great coders)
