Are non IT project managers still a thing?

I'm currently working as a digital marketing manager and I have little to no experience in the IT field. I do ,however, have a lot of experience dealing with teammates, leading them and coordinating them. Can my management and leadership skills help me transition to a Non IT project manager? (Transitioning because, the pay is good). Is this a good move for me?
