i have joined in a new project but due to, too much of politics in team i can't able to continue in the team, even Team Lead is not managing the work assignment things as per the project experience, i don't know what is happening in IT i am hearing this politics problem from many people. what is the solution for it?

i like the coding so that's why i am not able to quit the job, but i am not able to servive because of these kind of team politics, even project change also i am not sure everywhere these kind of people are existing and because of them silent employees career is affecting. but i am feeling sad due to these people do i need to waste my 21 years study(how parents struggled)+ the early struggles of our life to enter into this IT field and all.

If i tell the real problem to higher people, it simply create negetive impression on me, I have experienced this previously.

I can't stay eve one day in this team because it is affecting my mental health to stay in this team and now days i a getting physical health issues as well so what to do, i am so depressed and crying everyday i am getting shivering to login each day, what is the best solution for this pls advice.
I don't have energy to fight with them and to prove every single shit so even to bench also i am fine but i need smooth handling/transition. because if we spent all our life also we can't prove this fox nature of this unethical people.

Don't know in Capgemini why they will not give value to employee opnion, they will just give priority to higher position people words only.

Can Ai take product jobs? Been planning to switch to either PRODUCT or DATA SCIENCE roles in 5/6 months, but kinda skeptical as what path I should go ahead with. Also with the AI advancing everyday and some tech bros taking about AI taking jobs makes me wanna wonder about the path I should go ahead with.Any recommendations will help, thanks. Currently am a java developer with 1.4 YOE and kinda find it boring (maybe its the project)

I am in 2nd year in college pursuing computer science..so far most of the time i do competitive programming and sometimes web development..i am working hard but because of the never ending depressing posts on LinkedIn and blind about layoffs and recession plus no hiring in big tech..i feel that all my hard work will be not worth it in future..also the people have made this wonderful field a joke by this standup comedians who joke about engineers every time.........i really want to contribute to this society and earn great amount of money as well but the hope is decreasing day by day..

Anyone else feeling scared of AI induced unemployment ?

A lot of noise around AI taking coding jobs, which i fear might be real. Like not completely but you get my point. So how should one upskill themselves (especially the average folks, top 1/2% will not be affected in any field imo) for the upcoming shift? Like will data analytics/science or maybe ai/ml engineering jobs be on rise ? Should be start upskilling in those fields or any other suggestions? I would really like to know it from someone who has good experience in the industry or someone with good insight. Thanks

Currently working in a startup and contributing in data science projects. Learning is good but a lot of time goes down in meetings and discussions and I have to do late night work. Everyday starts to feel like the same and I am not able to get time for extra learning to enhance my knowledge and tech stack.
Also thinking of company change but most of them need 3-4 years exp to the data science team. 😭

Feeling losted

I have seen LLM models getting better day by day and seem to replace a lot of tedious roles that interns would do. How will this change the job market over time? Should people start learning coding to stay relevant in today's times? How will this pan out in 10 years?

Although I'm early in career(~4 Yoe) but I feel distinterested in it.

As far as I remember I was always interested in computers and programming(even before I knew it pays well), it's probably the only hobby I ever had.

It felt good in beginning but lately it feels like I'm dragging myself to work. I thought maybe I'm just distinterested in working for the employer but I don't feel like coding for fun either.
Doesn't feel like burnout because I haven't felt too much pressure from work in a while.

I thought this would be transient but I can't remember when it was fun last time. Has anyone else felt like this? Does it get better or is this just my life going forward?

 Sometimes I think of leaving everything and starting afresh in a different career.  
 Or sometimes I think of starting something of my own and quitting the corporate world.

Here's my rationale on all of it.

There’s a lot of buzz about “AI developers” in the tech world. Headlines shout that the days of human coders are numbered—a tantalizing, but dubious claim. 

Startups like Magic.dev are raising hefty sums to create "superhuman software engineers." Their mission? To outperform and possibly replace human coders. Then there's Cognition Labs' "Devin," which raised $21M and claims to be an AI capable of doing real software engineering. These companies are cashing in on fears and ambitions.

One narrative is that tools like Devin will soon replace entry-level developers. 

Devin’s current track record shows it solves about 13.86% of issues on GitHub unassisted. While that’s leagues better than previous models, remember, a competent junior developer would do much more.

We shouldn’t be fooled by flashy headlines or orchestrated media frenzies. Devin is, for now, an advanced coding assistant, not a replacement for the nuanced, context-rich work that seasoned engineers provide.

Consider the landscape. Microsoft’s GitHub Copilot has already dominated the coding assistant niche for over two years, with 1.3 million paying subscribers. Pricing at $20/month makes it a tough act to follow, especially given the computational costs tied to maintaining high-performance AI models. 

Companies like Sourcegraph and Replit are also deeply embedded with their respective AI tools, Cody and Replit AI. The remaining space is limited, pushing new startups to make audacious claims to carve out a territory.

The startup game is about getting noticed. Cognition AI achieved near viral attention, taking a page from ChatGPT’s playbook. Their video showcases are strategic, designed to create buzz. But strong media presence doesn’t guarantee a product that delivers on lofty promises.

The seductive idea that advances in software will eliminate the need for human engineers isn't new.

In 1959, COBOL aimed to empower business people to write their own programs. Instead of reducing the need for developers, it created a demand for COBOL specialists. The cycle repeats. Each new tool or language claims to reduce the need for knowledge workers, but instead, it shifts the nature of the work, often requiring even more specialized skills.

AI, especially large language models, remains highly effective within certain constraints. They can automate routine tasks and provide coding assistance, but they are fundamentally "probability machines," making educated guesses. Hallucinations, errors, and a lack of deep contextual understanding limit their utility.

Five years from now, developer tools will undoubtedly be more powerful. But the idea that AI will fully replace human engineers is a perpetual myth. Instead, AI will continue to serve as an extension of human capability—better, smarter tools, but not standalone replacements.

In our era, it’s crucial to discern between hype and reality. Don’t get blinded by flashy demos and bold claims. Look for sustainable, incremental improvements that make you a more efficient, capable engineer.

Is the “AI Developer” a Genuine Threat to Jobs?

Relatively new to tech - only 2 years of experience here so far. Yet find it extremely cyclical. Face the same challenges over and over again. Perhaps the setting changes occasionally but that’s really it. I understand this is not unique to tech and happens everywhere. But at least in product management, it seems like it’s research - design - dev with stakeholder management over and over and over again. Feel like I’m on autopilot mode and not truly *enjoying* working. 

I used to be so full of energy and enthusiasm in college and school, eager to learn. But the cyclical nature of work has wrung it out of me, and I’ve sort of become a cynic lol. Who enjoys their work?

I need some serious help. 

Bit about myself - just graduated this month and working as an APM at a seed stage startup. I have 1.5 years of product experience and 3 years of overall experience. 

Lately, not sure why but I am loving what engineers do. Closely working with them, and I guess it's nostalgic for myself. Because I did coding for 6 months and moved on for some reason. So, I understand how tech actually works. Have got good feedback regarding this. 

At the same time, I am not really finding the true value of what I am doing everyday. Feels a void inside. 

Also, I am not able to discuss all these things in person with someone, because I fear that they will judge me after doing internships for 3 years, I still haven't figured out my career. Such a loser I am. 

I have been thinking about starting coding again and maybe switching to a coding job in the next 6 months maybe. But again it would be tough for me as I only got weekends for me to learn all this stuff. 

What do you all experienced folks suggest? What should I do?

Right now I'm at the end of my 6th semester of engineering in IT, i am not interested in DSA and doing coding ( I like it to some extent). I don't know what I should do now where as I'm interested in job role like digital marketing and roles which are related to marketing ( currently I'm doing and internship in an startup where I have role of seo and digital marketing) and in future I want to go into business and entrepreneurship which is my fixed mindset. But for my placement I'm doubtful that i would go for the DSA stuff (I find interest in business analytics but i don't have those companies for on campus placement and I'm just starting to learn it) , can someone help me with this and guid me.

How do you overcome this phase, it’s really depressing sometimes and makes me question will I ever be good in it! Seen that invact guy saying “itni toh tough nahi hai coding” and the current market it gets overwhelming at times. Btw i have two years of experience in service based company. Should i give it another chance or just do mba or masters in data related field? Thanks.

Specifically a question to all the t1 tech clg grads (mainly software engineers) earning 1l+ pm out of clg with a lot of scope for growth. Post mba avg salary is 1.5l per month. 

I can understand ppl desperate for a career change and non tech ppl who are underpaid and don't really have ab option but it baffles me why well paid folks would shell out 30lakhs kr take the burden of loan just to learn how to appear smarter than you actually are instead of investing it for a meagre salary increase that can be achieved by job switches.

I'd love to  hear any insights about ppl who've already been in the space. Why u did, salary PRE post sector etc

Why the heck do people do an MBA?

I can share, I was working abroad post my T1 engineering. So you can imagine it must be > 1L.  
  
 Like all those confused 20+ engineers, I asked one of my skip levels that how should one plan the career path. He gave me a simple framework, “Look at your boss or bosses boss. If you are ok living that life, you’re on the right path else time to think more”.  
  
 I got my answers, maybe try finding yours rather than seeking majority “votes” :)
