I have a friends who are doctors. When I met them yesterday, I brought up Grapevine somehow. Aftee going through they app, they wish they had something like this.
Can we add sections/communities for other sectors?

Is Grapevine only for Tech & IT Folks?

Now that you brought up doctors, I sort of realise that professions outside of IT/Tech would have a tough time understanding this.

I was at a fairly high end tailor today, and the sheer beauty in the art of crafting a perfect fitting suit is unparalleled.

When I see a true master make the right knots and use chalk to measure on fabric, the beauty of peak human skill emanates from each motion.

It made me realise that we might be doing something extremely interesting in our day jobs but it is extremely hard to showcase true human mastery in it.

Suddenly, it dawns on you that although white collar jobs are paid well commensurate to the value they create, we seldom obtain skills that exhibit a similar level of craftsmanship.

There is indeed true beauty in the creation of the perfect suit. 

Somehow, it is a reminder for us all that builders are the ultimate value creators. Enablers ensure value enrichment but you can’t enrich something until the genesis of value.

And it is the death of human ingenuity if we become glorified file movers.

Why are some examples of human craft that makes you awestruck? What are your thoughts on this post?

I have been dealing with some mental issues lately and thought i should consult a therapist. Looked for some over practo but nit sure how ro select one. 
I not a very open person and it will take a lot of courage to talk to someone so asking the grape community for help if you know any therapist who helped you and you would like to recommend.

I foremost applaud you for developing a banger app. I alongwith users of grapevine had a feature request where could you guys please create a section "Seeking Referrals" dedicated to people providing referrals and people seeking for one? It might be a great help.

Those who have started using this app have realised that you dont have an option to connect with professionals on a personal chat, this might prove to be a hindering factor in the growth of this platform. In today's world where all message and social media applications allow users to cold text the other person I feel that this option should be available on grapevine as well. After all, we are just one cold text away from a new funding or maybe a marvellous job offer. So guys do your best and help us get this message across to the developers.

2. DMs: A polite way for users to take a few conversations deeper, and share referrals/resumes if they want to. A key worry for us would be to not make this spammy (like a few users pointed out on a recent post), while still staying helpful. 

3. Experience: A smoother, more fluid app experience coming soon

4. Moderation: As posts and comments on Grapevine increase in number - there's also a small 0.1% of users that sometimes post abusive/offensive content. We're taking these issues more seriously. We read every 'report' that you share with us and take action appropriately

5. Grapevine on Web (I swear the first build is super exciting - I'm typing this post out on an early version of Grapevine Web 😉). This should allow people to browse Grapevine while in a boring meeting 😂

6. Salaries: We're building something exciting for better salary information 💰

7. Verification: You may have seen some users on Grapevine are now verified with a blue check. Currently only launched for employees of 3 companies, we'll launch this soon for more companies. This is how we'll raise the bar on trust within Grapevine. And no, we never plan to charge for blue ticks like some other platforms. It's just a darn image ☑️

The person who posted this is a Doctor I believe... Isn't the one thing you really want to be a doctor is Empathy .. empathy towards people .. empathy towards your Patient 

Have people stooped so low that we are not talking about the what happened to the individual to take such a step and educating people about stress and mental health rather we are gonna cry that we work more and no one is grateful for them

There are so many basic paperwork questions - how to register company, GST, what all funds can government help with, how to get them, what startup programs 
Or behavioral questions - friends coming to build business, insecurity, anxiety, non - business backgrounds, job to business journey 

The top customers are here 
Many founders too, people who have built companies from scratch 
Founders who have failed and yet not given up
First time founders who built it big, navigating inevitable issues

How do you decide who is a good doctor to go to for your problem?

Hi, I'm looking for a genuine and a very good therapist in Bangalore - Hennur, Kalyan Nagar, Hebbal and adjourning areas. 

Been feeling depressed with all the things happening around me, work, personal, social, everything (more towards the personal side). Feel like I'm just hanging by a thread right now. 

I should have gone to a therapist sooner, maybe last year, by delayed it coz of several reasons, one of them being I don't know any genuine therapists. I tried one in another city around 5 years back, but had a bad experience, that therapist was just waiting for our sessions to be over. It was all money minded business. 

So I guess I avoided finding one and going to therapy. But right now I really need to do it or else I'll just burst up in I don't know what ways!

So please, if anyone knows of a good therapist in the above mentioned areas, please please do let me know.

I feel that when you open up to people about your traumas and insecurities, people are only going to use it against you in an arguement.

While you might argue that not everyone does that, and I would be the first one to agree to that. But you somehow stop trusting everyone, even your shadow , when your favorite people become your most bitter life lessons. 

The one who feels emotions always ends up suffering more. In the hindsight, it feels as if being a bare minimum "good human" is a curse. 

However,

I have been using grapevine to vent out and connect with strangers and so far I have only met supportive and empathetic human beings (most of them). 

Despite being covered in the sheild of anonymity, most people have only been respectful and kind. 

This proves that we, as humans , are only meant to love each other. Hatred is futile. Empathy is inherent while hatred is "cultivated".

I hope grapevine founders dont stumble across this post else theyll start charging premium fees when they realize how highly people speak of this platform lol

On the onset , I would like to welcome all the new members who joined Grapevine over last few days. Grapevine is a nice platform and I really hope all of you will enjoy great conversations and viewpoint on this community .

Now to the point why gatekeeping might become essential : I heard some days back , a good man on YouTube posted a video telling his fans about this awesome community. That is why you might have seen outburst of ‘ this is a nice platform ‘ posts on Grapevine. They also thank him in the body of the post xD. Honestly , I am fed up of this non sense posts And my timeline is already cluttered due to this.

Now his followers will start highjacking the community. Right now , this being a professional platform , the posts were interactive and decent to read. Now don’t be surprised if you see posts irrelevant to the community. I remember same thing happening with r/developersIndia community some years back and right now , that sub is kinda dead and have repetitive kind of questions which can easily be found if you have taken the effort to search for the posts.

Secondly, I won’t be surprised in case their is a difference of opinion with the Guru , people or his followers will start you bashing left , right and centre. 

I know this post sounds rude and entitled since everyone should have fair opportunity in life , but definition of fair varies as well. 

I’m very interested in knowing the POV of everyone involved here - may be I am over thinking. But would appreciate your thoughts on this .
