Content Writing Freelance Gig Struggles

I’m try to get some freelance work for side income and it’s quite difficult to get freelance clients initially through portals.

Anyone who does freelance/part time work other than your regular job? Anything like copywriting or content writing etc, How did you get the opportunity? How did you build a profile?

I have been a passionate writer since 2019 and have always wanted to work for my own, but starting a freelancing career after i quit my job is quite overwhelming, i hardly know how to find the right clients that I can work with, the rates i can set, the work boundaries, everything feels so out of place. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding this?

I am seeing lots of 22 years old who have opened their digital marketing agency and earning really good money by working with freelance clients who pay in dollars. I am starting up and I want a source of income. Don't really want to go to corporate job. Haven't had much success with freelancing. Cold mailing hardly works and gig websites like Upwork etc have lots of competition at some really cheap rate. What are the best way to getting freelance work with international clients?
