Do companies reject candidates with civil court cases going against them?
I am a software engineer. I joined the industry 3 years ago. My father had taken some money as a loan from another person for his own purposes, my father was not able to repay the loan so he filed case against my father and my sister(my sister had joint account with my father). But 2 years ago my father passed away, and that person has made me the party as well now. So legally I also have a case now. Now I am planning on switching the company, but I am worried what will happen in background verification checks, how I can avoid this situation? What I can do to help me such that this case does not become issue in switching company.
I don't think civil court cases will have an impact in BGC and switching company but that's just my understanding. Best check with a lawyer as well as your HR as people here won't have the correct information.
