F*** you Corporates

What the hell is wrong with companies these days? They are trying to take advantage of laid off people!!

I had 2 offers from renowned companies, both of them quoted me numbers and I agreed with. And now, the HR calls me and says since you don’t have a counter offer we can’t offer you that much we promised you earlier.

Well, f*** you. I have competing offers but just got them confirmed over calls. As soon as I get them, I’m gonna kick your offer and never coming back doesn’t matter how much you pay.

And for sure, I am gonna keep you hanging till the very last moment of joining date and then just write a apology mail (which I wouldn’t even mean) saying that sorry I can’t join tomorrow. You get what you deserve.

I deserve better compensation, better people and not just the ones who goes back on their words.

F*** you again!!

For laid off folks, it’s even worse. I have declined so many interviews in the screening itself when salary numbers were discussed.
And this is going to impact the company more because as soon as things recovers, people will start switching and things will eventually balance out

Yeah but ,that is if things recover.Who knows how much time it will take.

Pls write the reason also in “apology” mail, mentioning it is unethical behaviour

I would definitely do that. Never going back to that company. And will reject at the last moment only

Suggest to mark some leadership folks of these companies in that mail. So that they also get to know how f*cked up their HR is, if not already.

@pLaidOff keep up this energy! So much respect for people who know their worth and stand up for themselves!

Yeah. HRs are just lying plainly and I have many a times countered at that point itself and declined further process citing the same

While what happened to you is despicable, the reduced offer is because of hiring manager or HRBP, and not recruiter. Recruiter wants the role closed in the budget in least amount of time. They offered, you accepted. And when The hiring/reporting manager realised your offered comp, THEY want less money for you so that their existing reportees don’t rebel on you getting more than them. This parity issue usually happens when the company grows beyond a stage and is hiring according to new stage but corrections haven’t happened to existing team. Don’t blame HR, blame the HM who’s trying to retain everyone in least money so that they give big hikes (not corrections), make their team happy and get themselves promoted.

Sahi kia bhai. Not sure what logic is this ‘counter offer’.

ZoomyNugget

That’s the worst part actually. And the counter offer I have is better than them and I still agreed to join them because I thought it’s good. But now, I’m gonna just kick their offer at the last moment just before joining day so that they should know how it feels when you go back on your words

I genuinely tell them that i am not fond of offer shopping. You give me this number i will join.

They say, we need competitive offer first.
