Fresh graduates vs laid off guys.

Hi guys, just got layedoff day before yesterday. I had joined Increff on 5 June and was layedoff after 2 months due to cost cutting. They had overhired people hoping for growth but their clients left and had runway of 5-6 months. Can you guys help me out here in finding a new job. I was working as an SDE backend. Just graduated from college l, basically a fresher. 🥲

Hi guys, I really need help, was laid off last month as a Software Developer. I am a recent graduate from IIIT Gwalior with 3 months full time and 1.5 year internship experience. Am actively looking for an SDE Backend role. Have been applying everywhere with referrals, still no response. It's financially draining. Any leads would be appreciated.

Loosing respect for the companies which are laying off the freshers. I thing it is the worst thing which can happen in an industry. Ola and Amazon have fired freshers very recently. Any other companies which had done this?

Liabilities and high interest loans rising, household savings falling. It's a very worrying statistic if people are borrowing money just to stay afloat.

I am seeing a lot of layoff related posts everywhere from news articles to LinkedIn.. Is the Job market really that bad now? Or just the media is projecting that way? If it's really bad, which department you think is the most affected? How's layoffs specifically in India? Or is it layoffs in US but more hiring in India due to cost cutting? Are layoffs in technology/engineering dept as in for developers or some other departments? Your thoughts please..

I am sure this post will get a lot of backlash but still I want to express my thoughts. I usually don’t post anything but this just cross my mind. It’s been months now and we are hearing layoffs news from big tech giants Twitter, Google, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft. LinkedIn is flooded with posts from the people who got laid off. These posts garnering thousands of comments from people ready to help. My question to the tech community, What are we doing for our people who are not from so called big tech companies.? How are we helping them? I am sure there are people who got laid off from other companies need greater support in getting a job. All the companies right now are focussing on getting people from the former group. I don’t have any problem with that but it’s the fact that they were already on the top 5-10% of the tech pyramid. They were getting paid better than anyone in the market for years. They got the best facilites and sure have a good financial backup and savings. Even the severance packages they get from their companies is way higher than the market standards. Moreover, they are talented minds and already have an edge over their competitors. My request to tech community is to stop being biased and help people from the latter group to get some living(Job). They are in more need of our help and support. PS: This is just my personal opinion and there is no negative context to it.

Hey community, recently was laid off and it's close to one Month . I am good at what I do and in my previous profile I was drawing around 16 LPA . Now I am having difficulty finding jobs and even interview calls . Give me any advice on how I could come out of this loop. I have experience in devops+ IaC and python and decent know how of backend .

I am a '21 graduate from a Tier 1 college (old IIT) and have had short stints as product manager at a couple of startups. About a year back, I decided to startup but after a few months, realized that startup idea wasn't worth pursuing. Researched around a few startup ideas and finally landed upon a good one in D2C space. But the problem is financing. I don't have much saving and friends / family network wouldn't be able to finance this. I really want to pursue this idea but finance is becoming a hindrance. So started looking for job opportunities about 3 months back. I have been exploring work opportunities in product / founder office / EIR roles or other generalist role. Job hunt process has been frustrating to say the least. Getting very few calls. In most cases, people are ghosting after couple of rounds of interview or assignment. In some cases, after getting through 2-3 rounds, I got to know that opening has been closed temporarily. Most HRs don't even have the decency to give feedback. I don't intend to work in job for long anyway. As soon as I have the job, I plan to start working on my business idea and quit as soon as I have enough financial leeway. How should I go about job hunt process? I have been trying to connect with folks on LinkedIn in whose company job openings are there. Apart from this, I have been connecting with founders from recently funded startups. Naukri / Instahyre and IIM Jobs are other portals I have been looking on. Anything I should do differently here? Looking forward to hearing your suggestions / experience.
