So at the night of 16th Feb there was theft at my rented house in Koramangla 1st Block, when I was at my hometown, thieves took whatever gold & silver was there at home about 1 lakh value. It’s a stand alone house where the owners stay above. Since they are locals they informed the police the very same morning and there were teams of police on the same day. They took all the CCTV footage and a dog squad, finger print team was at the location while day. I thought they have taken the matter seriously and they would find the thieves quickly. But it’s almost a month now and even I tried visiting the Koramangla police station after I was back, but they told the police officer is not present and next time call and come. I don’t see any progress in the case and I think these folks won’t do anything unless there is something for them to gain. 
Has anyone else experienced this? And what should one do in such a situation?

- Separate cases included a Wing Commander defrauded of Rs 2.29 lakh, an Army personnel losing Rs 1.99 lakh to a fake Amazon representative, and a stock market scam where a complainant lost Rs 18 lakh.
- Additional arrests were made in cases involving job frauds, fake social media accounts, and investment scams, with significant recoveries of mobile phones, SIM cards, and bank accounts linked to the fraudulent activities.

Whenever I read foreign media outlets, India is the new Asian Tiger that will outpace most emerging economies in growth. But Indian media and Indian people act like India is the worst place to be.

The dichotomy is extremely confusing. Why is it that foreign media coverage on our economy is more favourable than our own hopes and aspirations from this country?

PS: I am really big on Indian Exceptionalism, the belief that India's economic development and trajectory are unique or exceptional compared to other nations, driven by our large and diverse population, thriving middle class, our entrepreneurial spirit, and the emphasis on technology and innovation.

 It is just not India, you speak with natives of other countries they will not paint rosy pictures. Happiest country Finland has such gloom in population and they accept it

Bit of a rant and a solution. I have worked for close to 18 years now lived in various part of country like Noida, Pune, Hyderabad and off course Bangalore. Additionally lived in eu for 5+ years. I feel post return to India I see the population has in general become more uncivil and rowdy. With useless apps like Swiggy/zomato/ blink it there is a splurge of stupid drivers on street. Similar is situation with Uber/ola etc with them the density of village folks with no road sense have increased tremendously. They drive badly and threaten common folks at the blink of an eye even though they are probably driving on wrong side of the road. 

I feel common folks should be given gun license so we can protect ourselves as we have no other way left to save our family and kids from these animals
