I'm not sure if "killed regional thinking" is good. This fear causes insecurity to localites. This was seen in Bombay, seeing in Bangalore and Chennai. And will see wherever local languages lose primacy or importance. Violence in this case is bad and done by some goondas for attention. But the larger issue still persists.
Will locals get better roads, housing and education with such insecurities?

I don’t think the financial status matters for such stupidity. You can see people here (working in tech, high purchasing power) are supporting. These people have full potential to break glasses if fanned with more such hatred.

Any obsession is (generally) unhealthy. Be that work, love or heck your language. The problem, I think, is that these people don't have identities of their own. They've failed to do justice to themselves and their parents(same story there, mostly) and which is why they resort to such means in an attempt to find an identity in a language or a culture. Its like your line is longer than mine, so instead to growing my own line larger, I will try everything to erase your line until my line is perceived bigger than yours.

Simple, the BBMP rule says 65% kannada fonts and 35% English and no other language to be used in boards.
I don't encourage violence but in Bangalore no one seems to follow any kind of rules. There are cases on these organisations that indulge in violence. However, they have the support of the locals.
The bank challans have English and Hindi but not Kannada. A rural Kannadiga isn't able to avail any essential services. People come to Bangalore for a living but even after a decade don't even make the effort to learn the local language.
Instead they impose Hindi on locals and even blabber that it's a national language when our country has no national language.
See as you said people come here. So that will bring a cultural change. The problem here is wanting people to come here and then crying why it is creating cultural change. But native and politicians have no problem with the other changes that comes with it.
I don't understand that from where this mindset comes that people who come here will have to learn. People who come here are not second class citizens. The natives feels they are in someway superior to migrants. But it's the natives that need to understand that such a demand is horrendous.
Not sure if you've noticed, but in metro as well the Hindi words have been hidden. Makes absolutely no sense to me. If a city is seen as one where a migrant can lead a life, you should be proud instead of being fearful of baseless imposition. As long as the following order is followed, I don't see any issue: Kannada - English - Hindi

I don't think it's fair to put Hindi when there are equally large number of migrants from Andhra, Kerala and TN. They have been the oldest migrants too. Saying this i don't support holliganism like i it was done today, absolutely unnecessary.
Absolutely possible that's there's an equal number of migrants from other states as well. However, if a third language is to be put there, and say Hindi is chosen as the third language - just to cater to another language speaking community, I don't see any issue with it. Again, absolutely fine to replace Hindi with Telugu/Tamil/Malayalam, but that didn't happen. They just scraped off Hindi, so it was clear that there was never an intention to put a third language out there.
Also, I understand why you ended by stating that you don't support the hooliganism. It's very sad to see how we have to defend our take AND add additional statements to assert political correctness. I hope we as a society get better and allow people to express freely without them being scared of words taken out of context :)

Locals are not tech savvy - If you are born in middle class BLR, and stay in BLR in a Software job you are considered a failure. You are expected to make it big in US. Everywhere else in Karnataka, kid from a middle class family born since 2000 has a software job the day he is born.
All locals are into real estate - as much as you hate high rent prices, locals hate you people for driving up cost of living and rents. Bachelor's can easily share the rent prices but single earning locals with a school going kid cannot. No all locals are not into real estate and all locals do not own land, they work as hard and are equally honest.
Companies will start leaving BLR - I have been hearing from God knows how many years. There is a specific knowledge pool built in BLR, no other city comes even close. You can keep ranting about Infra and water issues, no it is not happening anytime soon. Same thing people talk about SF, but nothing changes.
Bangalore has bad planning - this is only limited to East Bangalore due to high demand. People are willing to buy apartments on lakes and rajakaluve because they are 40% cheaper. Same people will rant here when their apartment floods. Are you so gullible not to contact a proper lawyer on the legal status?
Locals are racist - if it were true, locals would not be 33% of the population. But if you keep posting every small fight as locals vs outsiders, and then outsiders jumping to comment on it, it will only enrage the locals. Why can't you resolve the fights offline without making it viral?
