I think it’s a natural progression.  
 Grapevine, at least for me, is for the comments on the content. So obviously they are copying the only other place which is famous for comments

totally on the way to making it look like reddit, new comment and interface section is very similar but it's good. although they could make it less buggy and grapevine crashes a lot sometimes.  
  
 i just hope reddit population don't come here and start hate talking here too.

I do prefer the reddit interface over GV. So, if the interface is turning more like reddit, then that's a good thing. 
 But then again, what was GV's vison to start off with? If they're straying away from that then that's a problem

Yeah, I think they are straying though not intentionally.

I use GV like India reddit, because I was never onto reddit.  
  
 But what do you think the vision for GV is? Is it to build an anonymous corporate social network like blind or linmeidn? That's not monetizable and you can't sustain entirely on ads revenue. 
 Is it to build a social network for people working in corporates? - Now that's something you can monetize. While people pay their credit card on Cred, they spend their xx hours on Grapevine. 
  
 And then the north star metric changes from people creating salary cards to people creating posts and engaging comments.

It’s for both I guess…Indian version of blind and a social media for corporates but recent post suggests otherwise. Feed ways to monetise- Job boards, paywall for DMs, paywall for referrals etc.

Just saw an ad for Grapevine on Reddit. Always thought of Grapevine as the Reddit for Indian working professionals. Isn't it ironic that they're advertising here? Makes you wonder if Reddit will start advertising on Grapevine next! 😆

Hey Folks, 
On the onset , I would like to welcome all the new members who joined Grapevine over last few days. Grapevine is a nice platform and I really hope all of you will enjoy great conversations and viewpoint on this community .

Now to the point why gatekeeping might become essential : I heard some days back , a good man on YouTube posted a video telling his fans about this awesome community. That is why you might have seen outburst of ‘ this is a nice platform ‘ posts on Grapevine. They also thank him in the body of the post xD. Honestly , I am fed up of this non sense posts And my timeline is already cluttered due to this.

Now his followers will start highjacking the community. Right now , this being a professional platform , the posts were interactive and decent to read. Now don’t be surprised if you see posts irrelevant to the community. I remember same thing happening with r/developersIndia community some years back and right now , that sub is kinda dead and have repetitive kind of questions which can easily be found if you have taken the effort to search for the posts.

Secondly, I won’t be surprised in case their is a difference of opinion with the Guru , people or his followers will start you bashing left , right and centre. 

I know this post sounds rude and entitled since everyone should have fair opportunity in life , but definition of fair varies as well. 

I’m very interested in knowing the POV of everyone involved here - may be I am over thinking. But would appreciate your thoughts on this .

Make a pg-13 joke, ban. Support anything anti-mod, ban. Well at least now i know where the humour police hangs out. Modding here on Grapevine has been considerably better I feel.

So I ran these 2 surveys on GV. The one on the left is for millennials and the other one is for GenZ. 

I really thought that the GenZ narrative was false. Guess I was wrong.

This is such a stark difference. What do you think is the reason for this?

Is this global phenomenon or just indian thing ? And why do Indian behave in this particular fashion? 

And will this behaviour make any online service difficult to scale in India?
