Govt Job benefits in corporate

My parents are asking me to prepare for government exams and get enrolled in SSC coaching. I want to know what are the perks and benefits of government jobs that make people want it so badly. My parents both work for a private company, and I do not find anything wrong with working for a private firm. I like their lifestyle but they keep pushing me to go for government jobs only. What is so good about government jobs in India?

Money is everything? Isro pays 60k-95k to fresher engineers... Still IITians are not joining. Slogging for Western Mnc is the only desire of IITians? Governor of India just introduced Unified Pension Scheme for government employees. At times when it will become very difficult for corporate employees to survive after age of 40-45 in post AI world, this assured pension which was stopped after 2004 has been reintroduced. This will bring back the charm of government job which existed in 1970s-80s . In 70s and 80s, private jobs were synonymous with lack of job security. Globalization brought heavy salaries in corporate world and helped in reducing charm of govt job. Now, in 3-4 years, AI is going to cause huge change in corporate world thereby causing huge uncertainty. What do you people think?

I’m a software developer with 2 years of experience earning 1.6L per month. Should I invest 2-3 years in UPSC preparation for a fresh IAS position or advance to an SDE 3 role in the corporate sector? Considering the potential for better income, less pressure, and job mobility in corporate roles versus job security, pride, and potential moral conflicts in government roles,.Now I’ve had experience in corporate settings but don’t know anything about the first-class government job to compare with. Almost everyone might have faced this dilemma while working in the corporate world. Please help me understand the views that I might be missing.

Hi folks I'm currently working as a Full stack developer with 6 YOE now and TC 32LPA. While I enjoy the Technical side of my profession, I have long been considering appearing for state pcs exams. Mostly the reason is the job security , exposure to great connections (civil servants) , other sources of incomes etc. while being in private , I'll have to keep upskilling , pay upfront 30% taxes to govt and face this job uncertainty. I think 40-50 lpa in private should be equal to 10-15 lpa of govt given power , prestige and other benefits.I took a career break 8 years back to appear for upsc but left due to financial considerations. Pls. Advise.

Hi peeps need advice .I am working in a govt PSU with a gross salary of 2 lacs per month.I am 33 years old having passed out from a tier 1 college. All my friends are in the pvt sector and are earning much more than me.Every time I meet them ,i feel a sense of profound sadness. For the past few months i have been thinking of doing a one year MBA program from one of the IIMs ofcourse and moving to the pvt sector.Whats your take on this ?

Now that govt has introduced back the pension for central govt employees... The private sector has started to suck just a lil more now. 😭 P.S. I know it seems kinda childish, but the human nature of getting jealous with others' growing is kinda realistic. It is what it is. Not saying anything's wrong with it, though.
