It was a voluntary call to join an old colleague in stating up.
Reached 12 LPA after 1 year and currently 18LPA after 2 years.
Current fair market compensation ~ 30L - 35L but money is not a motivating factor.
Was in a job paying 18LPA(1.1 monthly inhand) last year.
Now joined a PSU, getting in hand of 70k+ quarter. Next year it'll be 1.1L inhand post, the probation period
The quality of work is way better now, and WLB is the best. There were days in my previous job wherein I came to my home post 9/10 from the office and just slept skipping dinner. Now, I get time to play Badminton for 1-2 hours and then eat n sleep post office hours

Did you have to write an exam? Or some interview just like other corporates?

What exam did you write bro? Is a bachelor's from CSE necessary to get a job in PSU?

Recently had an unwanted paycut at NTT Data,
I was part of a company which got acquired by NTT Data, Out of the Blues one fine day we got to know our salary had been cut of by upto 24% because of transition.
Oh damn
That’s not very nice
What was the company called before it was acquired?

After my first layoff, took a 10% cut to join. Quit that job in 6 months and switched over..
Hmm, layoffs are the worst
But great that you were able to bounce back quick 💪

Was working in US. $100k ctc. H1B lottery fell through. Had to come back to India. Started at 14lpa with a startup. This was back in 2018.
Shit happens! No regrets though. Couple of well timed switches and I am currently at a much better place compared to if I had stayed in US.

Shifted from hospital ops to VC in 2015. Took a 30% paycut. No regrets so far. But wouldn't multiplicative effect of salary hikes in one's career, unless one starts up.

Wouldn't deny* the
Just the once, and it was for a raidical industry / work profile change.
I did balance it out with a joining bonus that ensured my first year net was higher than the previous year.
Didn't last in the role beyond the year and didn't miss out $ wise that year.
Never again!
at my previous workplace, they failed to secure next rounds of funds and all of us were told to take a 25% cut

Applied for a full time role, got selected but had to be converted to an internship because I'm still in college lol. Cut down the paycheck to exactly half of what I was initially offered.
Now they are giving me an increment of 1/10th of what I was initially offered for joining them full time xD
How bad is the market these days?💀

I took one now. 50 +esops to 37 + esops.
Early stage company, I'm hoping it'll get corrected on next round. I was told about it on first call itself. It's a pretty good tech hence I'm okay with it
@SalonMusk , if you are not aware of complete situation, then better not make comments.
