I understand that part. I feel a FOMO when people talk about setting targets and stop losses, and I can't relate to that. I'm not even sure if learning and doing that will further help the return percentage? 😕

Hello, 

I have been using indmoney stocks SIP for a while now and have been able to accumulate a good portfolio in stocks. The overall return has been hovering around 18-22%. 

The portfolio comprises of common and wellknown large caps, some Midcaps as well as some smallcaps. The distribution is nearly equal i.e 33%.

I don't sell anything but rather the SIP keeps buying different stocks at different days through the month. I also invest a lumpsum when the market seems down relatively.

Personally, my portfolio lacks structure; I tend to purchase stocks whenever funds are available, resulting in an overly diverse spread across approximately 30 stocks that I'm looking to consolidate. I aim to adopt a more disciplined approach and identify areas for improvement.

Are you an active stock investor? Do you adhere to a regular investment interval and budget?

Do you impose an upper limit on the number of stocks in your portfolio? If so, how do you handle adding a new stock? Do you skip the new addition, or do you exit an existing one?

When investing, do you consistently allocate multiples of the same amount, or does it vary?

When entering a stock, do you make a single purchase or spread it over multiple days?

Do you adjust your stake in existing stocks? If so, what criteria guide your decision to increase or decrease your stake?

Upon exiting a stock, is it done in one shot or over several days?

I don’t have much knowledge about investing, for now i have following investments

- 10 Lac in FD
- 5 Lac in stock where I have bought stocks of well known large cap company without any analysis assuming that it will grow in long term

1. high risk appetite: do not want to invest in FDs
2. asset lite: do not want to invest in real estate
3. no dependencies, no loans, no emis

How do you invest your money?

I’ll go first. 

1. What kind of investor are you? 
I am an opportunity investor, and I do buy good stocks whenever they are in reasonable valuations. Below are my monthly numbers. 

2. Where’s the majority of your investment portfolio ?
I have three RE investments and one of them has loan. And I’m planning to buy a property in Goa or HP. 

3. What’s your monthly investment breakdown?

1.7L/ Month (approx) 

60k - SIP (mutual funds)
60k - stocks (smallcase, us stocks using vested) 
30k - as opportunity fund, this is transferred to a different bank account 
10-20k - for experimental investments in crypto, nfts, and some trading. This is a new segment and I don’t have much experience in this and that’s why starting small here. 

4. Anything else you want to share? 

I am learning to invest on a daily basis. Reading, videos and podcasts are my sources. Some of my tops picks are Whiteboard finance (Marko), My first Million and Smart Passive Income, finance with Saran, and Akshat Shrivastava.

Where and how much are you saving/ investing per month?

It's been close to a year since I am earning a salary and this is what I do:
1. Invest a little less than 30% straight into MFs. I have three ongoing SIPs- small cap, flexicap and a Large + Midcap fund. (Planning to increase the amount further into these and not start a new sip)

2. Max out 80C by putting the entire limit in PPF, this is on top of what is by default deposited into EPF.

3. A little (inconsistently) into direct stocks as and when I find or get to know about a decent trade opportunity.

4. An LIC ULIP plan that my father made me subscribe to 🙂 (hopefully will end in a couple more years)

30% (₹30000)in stocks (mostly targeting on dividend yield)
20% (₹20000)in Gold
50% (₹50000)in MF 
   -> 30% (₹15000)of this in large cap
   -> 20% (₹10000)of this in Index fund
   -> 10% (₹5000)of this in Small cap

Does this strategy work for wealth growth? Or what other strategy you suggest?

What should I do with my money

I want to start to invest in small cap funds. After eliminating multiple funds, I have come down to these 2. 
Since Nippon has stopped lumpsum investment, I will be investing through SIP and keeping lumpsum to put when small cap become less overvalued.
Not able to decide which one to invest in as many are planning to exit from Axis one.

Need opinion as after analysis, they both share similar risk (in comparison to Quant).

Hi guys, 
I have around 4L cash lying around which I wanted to invest. Currently, I think I am in a position to take maximum risks, and see where things go. I also haven’t redeemed the 1.5L tax deduction on Section 80c so PPF and ELSS are open as an investment opportunity. 

I was worried to invest in the current equity markets. Have just put in around 6.5L into Equities in December (Split equally amongst Large, Mid, Small and Flexi Cap) 

Needed advice on which seems a better option:
- Put 1.5L in PPF and the rest in Large Cap MFs since Large Caps haven’t peaked yet
- Distribute the 4L over the next year (~33k/month) and invest it in a SIP to account for market changes
- Put the entire amount into equities (1.5L ELSS, 2.5L Large Caps)

Also, needed advice if it’s better to look for a Real Estate or SGBs Investment to diversify risk? (<25 yo right now so can take a property around 40-50L to test the waters)

What are your views on the current market? I’m planning to continue investing a significant chunk (~50% salary) into SIPs all through. Should I reconsider?
