Don't do so many easy questions. 
 Interviews will mostly be medium questions. 
 Pick a pattern do 20-25 medium questions and move on to next pattern. 
 Do this and gradually you will start doing it by yourself

And most important is consistency. 
 Leetcode everyday till the day you get placed

Read better DSA books while solving these problems. Find the convergence between practical and theory. Only practical won’t help if theory is weak

I am an EE Final year undergrad from a Tier 2 College. I have worked with production apps and am still working with a startup (mostly PPOed). I never did DSA/CP and got hooked to dev only. Now having worked for over 20 months I get sad when I see people who did 2 months DSA getting 30LPA and Where I am not rejected from the shortlisting itself (Oncampus). Recently saw a guy with no experience, literally getting a 60LPA job with a 33L base. And now I doubt my life choices, why did my efforts of managing college and work at once end up in such a disgusting manner. My PPO won't be even half of his CTC. And a guy with just 5-6 months DSA cracks a 60LPA job. Life is tough but shouldn't be up to this extent. 

How should I tackle this crisis?

My question is: When I solve LeetCode, I am able to understand the question, come up with initial approach too but without looking into solution or explanation I am unable to solve it completely!😢
while watching a Youtube videos I am perfectly able to understand and solve the problem but when I solve a problem alone(without any resource) or live solve in mock interviews, I am stuck..

Anyone's gone thru the same phase, how to uplift myself from here?

Hello guys, I did alot of DSA in my college time (Tier 3 college), I got the highest marks in my DSA sem exams in my class and my professor was impressed with me, I gave leetcode contests, learned DSA from YT and so on. 

I got placed in a decent company with a 7.5 LPA package (while my best friend, who hardly knew DSA got a SDET role in a startup with 40 LPA), now after 2 years my pacakge is 10 LPA, I want to switch to a better company with good pay, I restarted practising DSA again but everytime I get stuck in some question and not able to solve it, it feels like I am wasting my time.

While in my job, I learned Angular, TypeScript and frontend dev (which interests me more than DSA, but I am too lazy to make my own side projects)

what should I do? should I stick on to DSA even though sometimes I just feel like I am wasting my time solving some random question which doesn’t justify anything about me? or beat my laziness and make some side projects with the frontend skills that I have?

any advice would help me. Thanks in advance.

I feel lost

I am currently in my 3rd yr. I'm about to give my 5th semester end sem exams. Till now I haven't done any coding as of now. I was only enjoying college life with friends. Not blaming but there is no coding culture in my college and I myself was also not aware about the market. Now I realised that I have done a big blunder. What should I do first now? I started learning Java during the Diwali holidays and I'm half way down. Pls tell me a roadmap so that by the end of 3rd yr at least I have a good internship in hand. I wrote all of this here because I think I will get some really good and valuable advice from the experienced community. And I need it very badly.

I (27, Mumbai, India) switched from non-tech background ( commerce) 2 years ago , and started with learning  frontend development and grinded very hard despite all odds. And i recently joined (March to be precise) as a React JS web developer. We are a team of all freshers except for the TL of course. Before getting the job,  I only focused on the web development part and never learned DSA except for solving codewars sometimes. Now, in my non office hours, I try learning DSA and solving codewars/neetcode problems which takes all that time and I am also reading a book on javascript. But sometimes I get into a dilemma, like it happened today, where I wonder if I am correct to learn DSA and improve logic building and dive deep into javascript, OR should I instead invest my non office hours in diving deep into React JS and also improving my CSS skills (where I suck a lil). I really get into this dillema somedays and end up getting anxious. Please tell me what you think. It would be very helpful, and I would be grateful.  Thank you.

Am I doing the right thing? What should I more focus on?

I am a backend engineer with a 9 year exp. In my fourth company now. Started with 5 lpa, now at 31 Lpa. 
Mostly have worked in normal companies only. I am from one of the NITs. 
I am not good at DSA. Everytime I have to switch a job, my resume gets shortlisted  and I get call via naukri. 
The things is in these last 4 job searches I have been rejected 100 times. I have been rejected by almost all the companies, 
Service now 5-6 times, oracle 5-6 times, Walmart 2 times, goldman 3 times, jpmorgan 2 times, Amazon 4-5 times, arcesium 3-4 times, msft 2 times. 
Apart from these, I have been rejected by adp, celigo, phenom, barclays, flipkart etc. 

Every time, I want to change a job, I'll get rejected by all the big companies and then will get selected at some normal company with a hike and will join them. 
I am at my fourth company now, and again I am searching for a job. Have already been rejected by GS, service now, phenom, epam, ice, demandbase in last 2 months. 
Every time it is the same DSA. 

I try studying, will do decent amount of leetcode prior to interviews. Last two months I am doing leetcode from strivers sheet. 
But same question I'll do here, and in interview will fail. Example I have done sorted array rotation, shares sell and buy, rain water trapping, and was asked the same question in interview and couldn't solve. 

I also want to earn more and get into some big company and stay there for some times, what shall I do? 

My concerns are, I am getting lesser calls this time compared to the last few years, I can't be switching job every two years. 
Want to join a big company and earn more.

How to be a successful software engineer

Hi, I am 28 YO currently working in a non-tech role. In few next years I completely want to switch to tech role (preferably SDE) for myriads of reasons but number one being my logical skills and and my love for creation. 
How should I start working on my skills? 
Currently I am in a foreign language profile and I have heard from my friends in UK that being bilingual really helps people in tech field. 
Please suggest ways for getting the degree or skills or both.

Non-tech to Tech

I am a BCA graduate who passed out in 2023 from a private university in Jaipur.Just like any other BCA guy I started preparing for MCA entrance exams such as NIMCET but I am not enjoying it. Truth to be told I always enjoyed solving questions on leetcode as well as making some web dev projects. Even I had developed some kickass advanced level web dev projects and won a hackathon also. But from last year I have been not coding and I literally forgotten everything. I am not even enjoying my MCA exam preparation. Even though I am getting decent marks in mock tests but still I am now frustrated. Please help me guys what should I do next? I love to code. What I am thinking is that to take some distance MCA course. Give myself 6 months to upskill and take a job. What do you guys think about it?

I'm not able to solve DSA Problems (Med - Hard). I have my placements in 6 months and while I have good Development Skills but my DSA Skills are lacking. Every time I try to solve a question I get stuck and copy the code from the discussion section. I want to get out of this hell!! 😭🙏

How do you overcome this phase, it’s really depressing sometimes and makes me question will I ever be good in it! Seen that invact guy saying “itni toh tough nahi hai coding” and the current market it gets overwhelming at times. Btw i have two years of experience in service based company. 30M here and currently working as a QA. My current ctc is 14LPA(6Y.O.E). Currently I'm on bench and looking out for projects. Parallelly I'm also looking outside, incase I don't get any projects in my current company. 

The problem  here is I'm not very good at writing programs(Or atleast that's what I think) and constantly face issues in programming questions in interviews. I have always been an A+ student, scoring in 90's throughout academics(Scored 100 in chem and phy in 12th). But never been able to clear programming interviews. This is affecting my self-confidence and I keep getting self doubts(One of my senior in my first company told me that, I'm good at theoretical concepts and I fail when it comes to the application of said concepts).

Now I'm into automation testing and as I was looking to switch, I kept seeing multiple openings for Mobile Development(Development in general, be it backend/front-end/full stack etc). The below reasons made me thinking as to why not switch to development:
1. My current CTC is low for my exp and testing usually don't have much openings
2. Testers don't have much respect in the Industry(Even from people working along with us)
3. Not much scope to earn more from testing field

My current thoughts:
1. Enroll into a Java course from any offline institute and learn Java thoroughly first.
2. Switch to a good company with decent pay
3. Invest time for 1-2 years and learn development and then try for some startups.

Any advice to my thoughts? Am I thinking in the right direction?
And also, if anyone who has done this transition(Or similar transition) could shed some light on how you did it and what difficulties you faced, I would greatly appreciate it.

Career Advice/RoadMap: Thinking to switch to Mobile Development from QA. Any roadmaps or advice in general?

I am graduating from  non-CS/IT branch at a prestigious college this month. In July, I will be joining as an SDE 1 at Appian. Since this is my first full-time job, I want to prepare myself. Experienced professionals, please advise on what to do and what to avoid for better personal and professional growth.

Here are some facts about myself:

Personally, I am somewhat introverted but can talk if necessary and am good at conversing with friends. I often find that others put more effort into initiating conversations, which is why I have only a few friends and no female friends. Most of the time, I am comfortable with this, but sometimes I feel a bit lost.
I rarely play sports or engage in physical activities (I’m not good at any sports). Any suggestions for improvement in this area would be appreciated.

Professionally, I was a mediocre student in college and spent a lot of time on LeetCode (I’ve solved around 700 questions). Should I continue with LeetCode or competitive programming after joining? Or should I focus on projects and learning new tech stacks or AI/ML (I’ve studied a few courses and worked on ML projects)? 
Alternatively, should I just focus on company work and not pursue anything on my own?


Lastly, I have a keen interest in finance and the stock market. I’ve been learning and investing for the past four years. Should I devote more time to learning technical analysis and swing trading, or should I keep it minimal?

How do you keep up the motivation to grind leetcode after a regular job? For example, I am a software developer with 1 YOE and I find it boring to continue with those algorithm problems after a certain threshold. 

But anyway, I feel the hiring process is still the same for most and there would at least 2 DSA rounds for most of the product based companies.

How do you keep up the motivation for this?

What did it take to get to that point? I'm reasonably comfortable with mediums but hard problems feel like a few notches above in difficulty. Should I find the equivalent rating of mediums on codeforces and work from there? Or is it better to keep reading LC hard solutions until something clicks?
