I am also remote.I am not much experienced  but Still Here is what I do , first i hit my head on the wall until it pains (when reading the code base which I don't have a clue about what is going on ). I'm a frontend dev, with close to 5 years of workex. I've been trying to switch to a full stack dev role for a couple of years now. Tried switching internally, but it didn't work because there were too many backend devs and too much dependency. 

Stuck with an infinite leetcode loop, did online courses but couldn't put those skills to work in building projects.
 
I'm looking for some advice with a focus on cracking the interviews. The plan is to take up a Full stack dev role in the next 3 months.

How to deal with getting out of your comfort zone in tech

We have to pair program all of the working hours and that's not helping me grow. It feels really exhausting and I feel bored easily.

Hello guys, I am fresher in this corporate world and a question is stuck in my mind. What if I got some task and I spent numerous hours still not able to complete it then what should I do ??

What if I am not Able to do a task

Recently joined a company.We majorly work in c and c++ . It has been a few months since I joined the company but it feels like I haven't really learnt anything new nor am I contributing majorly in any way . In this time span I have rarely coded and it feels like it is affecting my career deeply, especially being a fresher in this domain.I want to know the possible ways to tackle this situation and what else that you guys recommend.

Lost at work

I am interested in specializing in fullstack development with modern tech stack, nextjs, prisma, postgresql, shadui. My current project has over a million loc, ancient tech stack though: java struts, weblogic. Build time takes around 2 hours and running it locally is a 8 point story task everytime. 

I have been trying my best to learn on the side. Have also built some projects but I need to be more fluent.

Only my debugging skills and code navigation has improved and that too has peaked.

I am now feeling stuck. Coming from office tired and then I feel guilty for not having learned on the side because I am mentally tired in office.

Can anyone suggest how they dealt with this kind of problem or if my perspective is wrong

Hi guys, I am working at an MNC as a front end developer. I am going to complete 4 years soon here which is no less than a nightmare.

I should have switched so long ago but I am still stuck here.  And it's wfh, so I have been feeling so depressed lately having no professional life. 

I gave some interviews last year but couldn't clear and have been feeling demotivated since then.

Feeling lost in life

Hi folks, I am a fronted developer with  5+ years of experience in TCS. I am doing well in my previous project but that is complete then I joined another project where I am struggling to do a smaller job as well. I am not sure what's going to happen to me every time I am the only person who always points out even if I make that mistake or not. Even though nothing motivated me, day by day my performance was going down I am feeling tired from this same time I am thinking about leaving the project and searching for something new but they are not releasing me. Due to this I visit the doctor and he says you are in depression and suggest some pills. Nothing motivates me here. Can anyone suggest to me what I do now.

Frontend Engineer

I'm currently working as a Frontend Engineer at leading FinTech in India. I'm doing great in my current role(IMO). I also contribute to open source libraries on weekends.
Maybe it is FOMO or my learning curve being relatively flat, recently I'm feeling I don't want to type cast myself as a frontend engineer and explore backend as well. I might get promoted to senior role this appraisal cycle. My current org (specifically my managers) don't want me to contribute in backend services as there are already plenty devs in backend.

How to go about this? I can't switch since, no company would hire a folk as a senior backend developer with 0 backend experience.

How to switch to a Senior Backend Engineering role?

Currently an intern for a XYZ company, pretty good, compensation is pretty good, I'm an SDE intern, the team which im in is platform engineering, should I switch the role which has something more based on the heavy coding side?

I don't see myself beyond 5 years here, would this team matter when it comes while making a switch?

I work for a consultancy and currently I’m working on building an enterprise conversational workflow using LLMs. It’s a pretty useful solution for a pharma company in the US. The only issue is my boss is horrible. He is an Indian and he surrounds himself with Indians who are afraid of speaking back due to the fear of getting fired and the ongoing hiring weather. He doesn’t understand LLMs, uncertainty that comes with using LLMs. Now, I completely understand that LLMs are pretty new and to be honest, even I am learning with the job. He is old school, asks to do meaninglessly experiments, tries to satisfies his ego, not open minded at all and has this weird Indian dad energy of just saying to do what he says. Worst part is, since this client is the highest paying one by miles for the consultancy, they want me to tolerate all this bullshit. Since they offer remote work and I have absolutely zero intention of going back to working from office, I feel clueless most of the days and just take my paycheck at the end of the month and try to forget that it’s shitty. 

What is the best way to deal with such situations ? 

PS: easiest solution would be to switch but given the current hiring scenes, I’m finding it hard to find remote jobs so any kind of solutions are welcome 🙏🏻

I am a software engineer with 3 years of experience .For the first two initial years I was working as a QA in one of the good product companies with a very sorted work life balance .
I had recently switched to a BE role in a startup 
I am very much lagging behind here because of my QA background  ,the people here are very much talented and are great problem solvers .How do I reach that level ?
I have been  struggling to keep up with the pace here and finding it difficult to approach the tasks,even though i have been giving so much of time to work .
And the TL  in my team have a certain amount of expectations and hence they don't help according to that .(which i feel is fair)
How should I approach this  and level up here

Need advice

I have 1 YOE and I often miss my deadlines which causes spillover. The tasks assigned to me get completed by me, and I face very little difficulty in it.

Also, when someone asks me about a different part of the codebase, I am unable to answer confidently. I tried reading documentation, but couldn't figure out much. But still I do read the documentation sometimes.

I identified distractions and removed them, mostly my phone. But recently I noticed that I still miss deadlines, but the reason for that is I take a long time to figure out the issue/feature that I am going to develop.

So far I have tried
- Removing distractions, by uninstalling SM apps 
- White boarding the issue beforehand
- Communicating better and early.

Things I am going to try
- Use debugger instead of logs(I know, should have done before)
- Document before implementing (Didn't know, that this was a standard practice before)
