I am from EY.I cleared the interview at Deloitte. I got a hike of 30% from fixed. Now my manager is saying I am due for promotion for this cycle and I will get promoted with 25-30% hike. Associate consultant to Consultant. Continued down...
So what should I do ? Should I negotiate with Deloitte HR ? This is my first time, anyone please give me a solution. And will Deloitte HR agrees.
PS : EY manager don't know about me having an offer.
First and foremost do you have it in written that you would be promoted ? If it is in written you can share it with the Deloitte HR . In case it is not in written you can have a discussion with Deloitte stating these are the points . However as per my experience the HR would ask for written proof .
Also , it is possible that EY might have got to know somehow which is why they are giving you a promotion carrot to keep you there .
I suggest full transparency with your future employer .
Yeah got it. But normally Associate consultant gets promoted within a year in our team. That's a normal scenerio. Given that above average to good rating, my manager told me the same. So should I inform him regarding my offer ? But will it impact my promotion, bonus and hike in future if I am not taking the Deloitte offer ? (Worst case)

get promoted and then leave. Assuming promotion is due in October. You will make more post that + bonus. 30% seems high now but jobs will be available then too. In Deloitte, you will again have to prove from scratch. Promotion here is a mean game
Go to Deloitte. Better place. Don't stay with someone who is only valuing you when there's an offer
Anything not in writing, is meaningless. So you can’t do anything about it. Resign and ask EY to give 50% increment right away, or else stay resigned and search for better hikes on the 30% offered.
