I want to travel and quit my job

I feel a lot of insecurity about what if I lost my job. I work in Analytics & data science in a well known Indian Bank. Overall WOE is 8 yrs with 6 yrs in Analytics Tier 1 Engg+MBA. I would say after MBA i lost my way and hence behind my peers in career growth. This is mostly due to unsatisfactory work in the beginning leading to switches based on emotions and impulse, not patience. Though my current job is stable and its been about 2.5 years in this role, it’s a bit stressful and honestly I don’t like the constant firefighting mode that we are in. I constantly put in 10-11 hrs on a daily basis with occasional work on weekends. This includes almost 3 hrs of meetings everyday, where a lot of redundant work requests come in and almost everytime they have to be delivered in next 1-2 days. Quality of work is not so great. I tried applying but not getting decent calls. Only startups and Indian cos with high turnover reply to my applications. They too aren’t ready to discuss a decent hike. I am really insecure about what will happen if I quit / laid off. I have gone through layoffs earlier in my career and believe me it’s a terrible experience, eats up all your savings. I tI tried a few sidegigs to build passive income source such as building a YouTube channel on travel, or a travel advisory app but couldn’t move much. App didn’t happen and YT channel didn’t get off after few months of hard work. I currently am very demotivated and feel that i have not been able to grow in my career. Salary posts on grapevine add a lot more to my demotivation. Current CTC is 27.

Asking the same question to me, I will say I am on the verge of being jobless as I am on notice period, my company Is not giving me early release and the other company which offered me a job is not allowing me to join after 90 days. They'll revoke the offer if I fail to join within 1 month. Hence, I've left everything on God. I can't sit and cry over one thing. I've to find another way, so you'll need to help me. I am thinking of starting my own YouTube channel but the thing is what kind of content I should share on the channel, I can't think of it. So help me suggest some topics that are trending now and will really help me grow my channel. Also there are some content ideas like a cooking channel or traveling content but as for cooking there are a lot of channels for it and people love to watch, why would they see my videos and as for travel content I don't do much of travelling. So guys I am leaving this on to you all. Suggest some ideas 😉 please. It will be helpful. ❤️

I am seeing lots of 22 years old who have opened their digital marketing agency and earning really good money by working with freelance clients who pay in dollars. I am starting up and I want a source of income. Don't really want to go to corporate job. Haven't had much success with freelancing. Cold mailing hardly works and gig websites like Upwork etc have lots of competition at some really cheap rate. What are the best way to getting freelance work with international clients? Any help would be highly appreciated.

Currently working in MAANG abroad. I might get affected in upcoming layoffs however i have no motivation to start looking for new job. I have been switching jobs for last 2-3 years and somewhat exhausted now. Only thing i want to do is chill and continue gymming 😂

I have generally seen this either in reel / film life or real life, where people who love what they do, tend to be - 1. Much more happier / satisfied everyday 2. They give way more of themselves into the task not because someone demands it, but because they want to, they enjoy it 3. They constantly improve and be better at this thing 4. They aren't in it for the money. They don't do things or learn more or put more hours because it's paying them, they do it because of the love for the thing. Money is just an add-on Do you guys have anything like this in life which you enjoy doing so much and can do it without thinking about the money you'd get. This thing shouldn't be something you consume, but something you produce, even if it helps 1 person out, still counts! Eg. You do coding, learn new things in it, not because it pays you, but because it's what you love doing. You'd probably still keep doing it even if it doesn't pay you anything

I’m a Frontend Developer and also familiar with backend. I would like to build a secondary source of income. I haven’t decided on the option yet. Here are the ones I’m planning to consider: - Freelancing - Not sure how to start. I think listing myself on upwork or other similar platforms will be hard for me to get clients with the competition that we have in those platforms - Blogging - Earning via Adsense. I don’t think I can cover all my expenses with it but it helps for smaller expenses YouTube- I’m not experienced in video editing. Not sure how to start. Also how many more years it will take for me to get monetised? These are the options that I know. Please share the suggestions/ articles that can help me to get started. I can put around 7-10 hours per week for doing this. Thanks in Advance

Hey guys, Wanted to know your opinions and if someone has walked similar path before. I am in infrastructure engineering domain, want to transition into core backend with full stack. I have roamed around abroad and found really great quality of life - 1. Food quality is damn good! 2. Spending power when you travel with that currency to other parts of the world 3. Disciplined 4. Power of people, where the rules are same for all. You are just as powerful or weak as a politician in regards to upholding the law. I like these concepts and want to explore living abroad, learning cultures, traditions and people. I was thinking of getting into a Europe based company(understand the pay would be less but I get to roam EU countries with better work life balance) for my backend role and leave my current job to prepare for it as my entire day is sucked off by this current high paying job and it's not fun anymore Thoughts? Tldr - Not happy with my current life sucking role at startup. Have experienced better life abroad as a tourist. Want to switch to a job abroad and experience customs, traditions, people, culture, languages!

2 weeks back, I have decided to resign my current job and take plunge as a consultant / freelancer working w.r.t GenAI use cases... I have plans of joining my mentor who does this kind of service w.r.t mobile and webapp for almost 15 years as a one man company. I feel like I will be getting out of zoo into a wild forest any advices is of great help and any leads who are in need of such help will of immense help. Thanks in advance
