I am getting opportunities to do an MBA in tier 2 colleges like IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur, IIM Nagpur etc
Should I consider them or should I take a drop for a Tier1 MBA or should I continue to grow workex and switch in IT domain only ?

Hey there
I am a 2021 graduate. Have worked for 1 year in an ed-tech giant and another year at a startup.
Had a brilliant time in startup, learnt a lot and enjoyed every bit of it until couple of months back, when there were layoffs and some part of the team was asked to leave.
Now I don't enjoy working here because of high amount of work, no wlb and no people to chill with and planning to switch. But with current market scenarios not sure if that's the right choice.
I am also thinking to do an MBA next year probably from tier 1 tier 2 colleges. 
What according to you would be the best path or what you'd have chosen to do here?

Long term goal: To stay in India; fine with working 2-3 years abroad.

Query 1: Considering an average profile with 9/8/8 in high school/intermediate/college, tier-1 undergrad and 2 years work-ex at a start-up. Do I have a chance to bag an MBA admit from the following with little scholarship:

- LBS
- Insead
- HEC Paris
- Oxford
- Cambridge
- SDA Bocconi
- NUS Singapore
- IESE
- ISB

I'm targeting 1 year programs only for cost purposes, hence the US is out of the picture. Feel free to suggest good 1 yr US programs

Query 2: How much GMAT is required for my profile to get into these schools?

Query 3: Are 2 year IIM Programs more advisable for me and should I leave abroad colleges altogether. At the maximum, I can't wait more than 3 years of work-ex at the time of applying due to personal reasons.

My opinion -  
  
 Q1 - If your long term goal is to be in India, prefer institutions within india. Reason - You won’t be able to build network, an imp component of any MBA program. I know someone who went Dublin and struggling even to get references back home. Adding A/B/C will help  
  
 Q2 - Target 720, you will land at a better place. GMAT is just a barrier, not the deciding criteria. 
  
 Q3- 2 years would be good considering your constraints and long term goals. If you can extend 1 more year, you’ll be eligible for IIMs 1 yr MBAs.  
  
 Overall - It’s my strong opinion that if you are targeting foreign MBAs, value derivation will happen only if you plan to stay, work abroad for few years. Financial burdens will be less plus you will something worthwhile to show. See the privilege of “foreign-returned” is slowly reducing in india as global roles are getting created here as well.

I graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree from one of the old-IITs. I want to know the prospects that doing an MBA from IIM A, B, or C will open up for someone in my position, both financially and non financially. My current position is SDE-1. This question is for people who have been in this field (any form of analytics) for a few years.

My background (You can skip to the next section and jump back for reference here):
Role: Data Scientist/Analyst
Tech stack: Python (ML), SQL, Tableau
YOE: 2 years
Work: Started here as a fresher. Being in a service based company, we offer analytics solutions. I have worked to create a clients data pipeline(No code tool), to maintaining it, creating dashboards (Primary task) and ML models (Based on any major change in metrics).
Salary: On the lower spectrum (Definitely!)

Reason for this post:
I would call myself good with tools but lacks industry knowledge and the maturity to actually be in analytics. I do decent, but I have to depend on my manager sometimes to understand the business and provide correct solutions. But I guess that is how it is in case of any fresher starting out?

Question:
Is pursuing a 2 year MBA (Targetting only Tier 1 colleges) a good idea for someone who is already working in analytics for 3 years (by the time I join an MBA program)?
Please share your thoughts.

Context to the question:
I've discussed with someone who did their MBA and works in analytics for a bank now. And according to them, the best way to progress in analytics is to choose a domain and stick to it. And to reset my career, I should do an MBA. This will help me get an understanding of all the domains, improve my soft skills (and time management, etc.) and also give me a good place to start fresh. And they say it will help me in the future as well, as it gives me a very good alumni network.

I'm considering this because of my ability to network has not been that great and also to get the domain knowledge they said I'll be getting. But is it really worth it considering I lose 2 years salary, and salary growth and also have to spend a big amount.

What is the future scope of the PM job role...will it still be relevant after 10 years, Is going to IIMs spending close to 25 lakhs in this economy to get into a PM job role justified??
Context: I know many people will say you don't need IIM to break into PM, But considering I'm a 25 Male, from tier 3 college...currently working as a product designer with 8 lpa...so I think the only way to reach 25-30 lpa in hand by 28 is by joining IIMs

Is getting into IIM to get into PM role justified?

Do I loose out on senior roles in larger/  ‘branded’ orgs as I gain more experience due not being an MBA from top 10?

I currently hold a SDE position with 2 years of experience, and I've come to the realization that coding isn't my ideal career path. Consequently, I'm contemplating pursuing an MBA primarily to transition into an executive role and have better growth opportunities post-MBA. My current salary is 18 lakhs per annum, while I've observed that the average packages at ISB hover around 35 lakhs per annum. And the fees is around 40-45 lacs.

Does it seem reasonable to pursue an MBA? I understand that it might take 3-4 years to break even in terms of costs, but in relation to gaining experience and expanding my professional network, is this a step I should genuinely consider?

Is doing executive MBA from ISB worth it?

Throughout my life, I have been discriminated against due to not having a pedigree. I have had to work my ass off to reach where I am today.

Currently I'm at a senior position in a startup incubated by an MNC. I still face the following concerns:

1. Extreme difficulty while applying for jobs; Example: my exceptional performance in my previous organisation was not known outside and since I didn't have any "pedigree", I was considered overpaid in the job market.

2. I did join at a decent hike after an year of search and even in the new company, I don't command a lot of respect due to the lack of fancy tags like IIT/IIM/ISB/Booth/LSB/Insead,etc.

What should I do? Does an MBA make any financial sense to me at this Experience and Compensation? If yes, where should I try for an MBA?

So a little background about myself. 

I graduated in 2023 from a tier college and managed to get an off-campus job in an investment bank as an SDE. 

My current salary is 24LPA.

Would it be beneficial for me to do MBA from the above mentioned colleges

Like would the placements there be better than what I have currently? 

Also if I can save enough money in 2 years would a MBA in US in a top 20 uni be better than MBA in IIM? 

I will be going for further studies sometime in 2025 or 2026.

My main goal is to improve my salary and build a network. 

I have also managed my own dev agency and did freelance projects in the past 4 years. 

If anybody has gone through the same please let me know your experience.

Should I go for an MBA?

Hello,
I am currently a 3rd year computer engineering student from a 3rd tier college,
The average package here is around 3.2L,
I am not confident enough to land this package and I am confused should I start preparing for CAT now or should I focus on my placements preparations, I don't know whether I will be able to get a good college as I don't have any experience,
