- Research shows 90% of animal and vegetable protein samples contain microplastics, tiny polymer fragments that can be as small as 1 micrometer.
- Even vegetarians are affected, as fruits and vegetables can absorb microplastics through their root systems, transferring them to various parts of the plant.
- Salt, sugar, and even tea bags are significant sources of microplastic contamination, with coarse Himalayan pink salt and plastic tea bags releasing billions of particles.
- Rice and bottled water are also culprits, with studies showing significant plastic contamination in both, affecting human health.

Foods Contaminated with Microplastics: A Growing Concern

Nestlé’s baby food brands including Cerelac and Nido added sugar in the form of sucrose, in lower and lower-middle income countries including India — but not in the products sold in Europe or UK, according to a report by Swiss investigative organisation Public Eye and International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN).

The research was conducted at a lab in Belgium, and examined Nestlé’s baby food products from Asia, and Africa branded as Cerelac, Nido, Mucilon and Dancow. These contained an average of 3 grams per serving, and in some cases up to 6 grams. Similar products tested in the European markets showed no added sugar. A Nestlé India spokesperson has attested that the company has reduced the sugar content in the baby product portfolio by 30% over the past five years, NDTV reported. In 2022, the sales on these products exceeded Rs.20,000 crore in India alone.

Nestlé has been under the scanner in the past for similar violations in several African countries. Reports from the 1970s raised the alarms on their unethical marketing practices in an effort to push artificial feeding over breastfeeding.

- The brain samples contained ten to 20 times more microplastics than liver and kidney samples, making human grey matter a major dumping ground for these tiny particulates.
- Some brain samples measured an average of 0.5 percent plastic by weight, with higher concentrations found in individuals who had died of dementia, including Alzheimer's.
- Microplastics have already been found in various body parts, including testicles, penises, semen, arteries, hearts, lungs, and bone marrow, raising concerns about their impact on health.
- Scientists are calling for urgent action to address plastic pollution, with experts declaring it imperative to declare a global emergency.

Thoughts on the inflated hotel price in India?

Don't take this post negatively but think hard and put your views. We all agree that India is doing great at this point of time but no one , literally no one is talking about the danger future we have in front of us in coming years.
Below points need immediate attention and action 

1) Huge water crises in all the major cities and it will only get worse each year.
2) Corruption still relevant in almost all government works from land registration to traffic fines to railway ticket fines, you name it. 
3) We really need one child policy for some years now otherwise we can't imagine how dark the future is in all terms, from food to employment to natural resources.
4) Almost every food product from oil, ghee, butter is contaminated and the quality is just getting worse, to meet demand and to increase profits. Also corruption here.
5) The weather is just getting worse because of all the concrete jungles we have created and this will also get worse , thanks to our never ending population explosion.


Barack Obama rightly said recently that we should focus on improving the health of earth rather than finding life on Mars.
Earth will still have oxygen even after nuclear energy wars.

Sometimes I really think that we need real Thanos , who is the only one who can help solve these problems.

Why would an govt authority allow more pesticides into food? Especially when our spices are ridiculed in international markets for such things and our protein powders have pesticides in them.

Is FSSAI truly a joke?

FSSAI allows 10 times more pesticide in spices. Are we doomed?

The problem with such founders is - They will try to play “Indian brand” card as reasoning for over-priced IPO but the majority of issue was secondary sale. A minor part will go into the “so-called” Indian brand and it’s expansion.
