The only major thing you need to worry about is the ingestion of metals like lead and arsenic which actually are harmful for you. But compared to microplastics, you are more likely to ingest huge amounts of these metals from non purified water, and alternative pseudoscience based "medical" systems such as Ayurveda, Siddha and Homeopathy.
