Yes, first interview calls are taking a decent amount of time (2+ months for some)

The road is slightly easier after that but not too much. You could be ghosted at any stage, your offer can be rescinded, you can be lowballed AF or any other thing that prevents you from joining. Keep interviewing till your next joining date - my advice.

I am trying to switch since last 2 months using naukri, instahyre, linkedin and cutshort and have only gotten calls from WITCH companies and other small service companies. 

Is job market really that bad or do I lack the tech to get an interview at a decent product company?

Does instahyre even work? Not a single call or view by recruiters

I have almost 8 years exp and tech stack is java, rest API, kafka, weblogic etc.

Have been trying to switch for the past 6-7 months. Initially till June I was actually getting calls. After that in September I did not even get a single callback. No interviews for September and October. Everyone out there is just suffering. 

An acquaintance daughter called me and she was crying she could not land a Business Development role even for a mere salary of 20-25k p.m. i could not help. 

My resume is fine as I have had it  vetted on r/resumes. I have 2.3Yoe. Nothing is working. I just  wish to die.
I wanted to save money for my master's as my mother cannot afford to pay cause Father's dead. 

Nothing is working. When will all of this become at least bearable?

I am currently a backend developer with 3.5 years of experience at a Fortune 30 company and have been promoted for two consecutive years. I have been working as a developer for almost 3 years now. I have been pursuing design at side and want to transition to design as career (UX/product design roles).

Need help on navigating roles and salaries from anyone who has transitioned/seen someone transition and has knowledge on this.
1. Apply for entry level roles or senior roles?
2. How to navigate salary discussions ( if recruiter says since this is your first design job we can only pay entry level salary X which is less than my current salary as a dev)?

But I'm not sure why I never get any calls back Or mails and these days I only see vacancies where they want only experienced people like more than 5 or 10.. Hi all,
I have been giving interviews for several IBs in last few months and i have had a very laggy, slow experience.

Namely, i have been interviewed by JPMC for about 3 profiles, Barclays for about 3 profiles, BNP Paribas and DB for about 2 profiles.

I would not disclose or discuss anything about offers. What i want to highlight is all these organizations are just taking weeks to finalize and give answer. If they like you, they would have rounds of interview in 2-3 days after each interview, but then, its radio silence. Then they either internally reject you and don't give any update or keep on window shopping with other candidates and try to find cheaper options. Then they come back if they don't find anything.
But something that they should change is transperancy.

Say exactly what is the status of a candidate. Why you want to keep on buying time.
On the contrary, i was also interviewed by EY. And they were simply the fastest and the most to the point guys.
Interviews done in 2-3 days, after final interview with director, i got a call the same evening discussing salary, etc...

No HR HR game and time wasting.

Also, none of the IBs ever update the status on online portal and when you reach out to HR for an update, all they say is its in process, waiting for business to reply and please check status online.

At times, even after months, the status stays the same.

And the worst part is, after playing their time wasting game, say if your scored an offer letter from somewhere else, they will say that this wasn't disclosed or said during the discussion. 
They should understand that if they are wasting a month of an employee on the pretext of "waiting from business for reply", it can happen. 

If any other folks have faced same issue, please share.

I personally have made a decision that if and when i do hiring or am part of hiring process, will try to be as transparent as possible and give answer atleast in a week's time to any candidate.

Hi. I am currently working as an SQL Engineer - Support with almost 2 years of experience and 6 months of internship experience as Business Analyst (Stakeholder Management). I want to switch to Data Analyst profile as that was the field that I wanted to pursue my career in but due to the COVID pandemic, I accepted this profile.

I have done MCA from a Mumbai University affiliated college in 2022 and have an understanding of the general Data Analyst stack (SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Python). I have also completed various personal projects for my portfolio on the technologies mentioned above.

I have been applying for various Analyst/BI/Data Analyst related jobs since last year's October but haven't heard back from anyone. I want to understand what I am doing wrong or how should I change my approach regarding the job switch. 

Any suggestions/guidance is welcomed.

I’m an Entry Level engineer having 1.7 years of experience in a WITCH company, mostly working on Spring, AWS, Core Java backend stack. 

I’m looking to switch to a better company for my growth as I don’t find any opportunities here and the learning has been very slow. I’m currently learning frontend (Angular) and K8s. 

Have tried giving my resumé to multiple companies everywhere but no luck. Is it very hard for someone having backend experience of 1.7 years to switch?
