Is there any way to tackle depression

I have been battling depression from childhood when I didn't even know it was called that. I am trying to switch jobs, I got 1-2 offers as well but I am not happy at all. I stay at home with my parents and work currently. I fear moving to a new place for a new job all alone would be very hazardous for my depression maybe. I tried therapy multiple times, didn't work, tried yoga, reading books, meditation, yet nothing seems to work. I double doubt on myself working in the IT field as well and think I don't wanna do this, i don't know whether it's cos of my depression or me actually hating the field cos I felt bad during my college days as well in anything i did.

I think of offing myself to attain peace and come out of my head from all the overthinking all the time but I understand i can't cos I have to stay well for my mom and dad who love me the most

Anyone has any solutions (maybe proven ones) to this matter?

Sadly, there are no proven solutions to depression yet. Some treatments work for some people, others work for others. For yet other people a combination works. Sometimes you even have to change the treatments.

First you need to make sure if it actually is depression, because you said it is right from the beginning. Only a good therapist can do that. Usually there are questionnaires that you answer. It’s usually easy to figure out if you develop it later in your life.

Talk to a psychologist first maybe. If that doesn’t work you can approach a psychiatry. But honestly, I feel mental health right now is like health practitioners were before current medical science. They would do blood letting to cure some things. Separate the left and right hemisphere pf brain to treat some mental illness.

So avoid psychiatrist meds if possible, because at times people complain of side effects.

That said, physical activity provenly works better than anti depressants, but nobody tells you that because imagine doctor saying yes, I wont give medicine, just start running 20 minutes a day.
Selling medicine is profitable for pharmaceuticals, doctors and it makes you think you’ll get treated magically.

tl;dr Start physical activity. Brisk walking, running for 20-30 minutes a day. Get sunlight like 15 minutes twice a week. Talk to a psychologist and see if that can help.
Try a psychiatrist if situation is really bad

Will try your advice and let you know, in the past physical activity hasn't really helped tho, it works for the few moments that I am active then all thoughts come rushing back

Yes, also don’t forget the importance of socialising. Even if you are an introvert, find someone who you are comfortable with. Spend time with them. Talk about whatever you are comfy. Being around someone you trust and care for helps by releasing oxytocin and other stuff.

Try guided mindfulness walking, or guided meditations. They may help slowly over time

Update me what happens..

Offing yourself is not really a solution. It’s more of a sin. You probably need a change in your life. Maybe meet new people, try new experiences in life. Go out and feed some stray animals. The act of giving and helping the needy will make you feel good on the inside.

And you don’t like IT field, find something else you might like or have always wanted to do but couldn’t. Staying with your parents you can take a break from work and focus on looking for what you really like doing. Moving out of home is not always a bad thing, it will teach you how to survive and fight for the life you have.

Changing fields when I have financial issues doesn't really leave me much options tbh, and strangely I can only think of management as another field which also pays kinda good, other than that, I am really not able to think anything else, lemme know if you have some ideas

Well I am afraid, in this case you will have to continue working where you are if it is helping you keep a roof over your head or take on one of the job offers you have till your financial issue is sorted. I understand how it feels. Even I don’t fully enjoy where I work but it pays for the things I need. It’s not easy to change domain. I don’t earn much but I manage to make the little go a long way. So I stick to this even though it’s frustrating at times.

all these fears will happen for most of the people. But we need to prioritise what is more important for us and stay focused and stay connected with close ones

I can only tell you to do something spiritual. Easy Take bath twice a day. After bath go for worship and read Gita. Do some yoga and eat healthy foods. Obviously along proper guidance of doctors. All the very best of luck for your future.
