Jio Cinema : Rejected for SDE-2
Hi All, I gave my first round of interviews. Answered all the questions and also completed the app which was half built... Was asked to show data in the recycler view. The only no was from me for a question that I know Jetpack compose or not. So has Jetpack Compose become a mandatory skill nowadays ? Seeking for feedback and open for suggestions. Thanks in advance.

If I was taking an interview I will not consider it a must but Compose first became stable in mid 2021, it's been almost 2.5 years of something that changes Android dev significantly and if I hear a dev say they don't know it I'll consider them as someone who does not spend time learning and not interested in software dev in general.
But that is just me.
Ya I understand. Never got to work in the Compose on production app.

That's ok. I don't think the requirement is yet of production but of knowledge and interest.

bro what are the questions ? they asked, i am also applying for the same role
How do you think they continue to keep their products crappy? By rejecting worthy candidates. Chin up, bro.
Although the app is 100% Compose, we do have people joined without Compose knowledge and figured it out here.

Well the direct of mobile () himself doesn't like compose list very much, but still it's like a mandate for a person to know to work there, it means it's a necessary evil.
The interviewer was himself working with Compose from last three years so he was unable to frame questions properly related to XML.
For instance, he asked which is a child of constraint layout so I said we can create a child of constraint layout by extending it, in Android motion layout is a layout that is child of constraint layout... Then I tried to confirm that from him ... He replied : maybe.... Now after a few minutes he said yes you were right The motion layout is a child of Constraint Layout...( Probably after Googling)
