Hey,

I've been working as a Frontend Developer at a startup in Hyderabad for the past 2.3 years and I've also worked on backend projects unfortunately, over the past year management hasn't been able to secure new projects on Monday my 4 colleagues had 1 on 1 discussions with HR and were given a month to find new jobs. If they can't they will be terminated in 2nd month I'm currently on a project but with less amount of work—should I be worried? It seems like they plan to terminate 4-5 employees every month.

I don't know why everyone is making a big deal out of layoffs. Even the ones who laid off are not that concerned than the ones who comment.

Laid off employees literally get free money upwards of 10 lakhs in many cases of senior developers who are laid off from top tech startups. Companies pay severance equal to 3-6 months salary of laid off employees. Some even offer other benefits as well.

I personally know a couple of Devs who got around ~9-10L in severance pay. So, yeah if there are layoffs happening in funded tech startups or leading tech companies, considering their pay range, laid off employees get handsome severance pay including employee benefits

Hii, I'm a front-end developer having around 3 years of work experience. I got laid-off in 2023 just after 1.8years in an organisation. Then I joined another company and got laid off in 6 months. Now I have an offer from early stage startup but I'm too scared to accept it because of my experience. But on the other hand I don't have any offer as well. Will it look bad on my resume. I don't know... I've started thinking that something is wrong with me otherwise what is the chances of getting laid off twice within same year. 
First I loose my peace of mind because of work pressure and then I loose my work... pretty f**cked up situation.
I have never been this unde confident. 
What do you think shall I take the offer from startup again or wait few more months or more to get into good mnc??

Have recently started noticing a bunch of times that my manager leaves me out of meetings where key decisions are taken, related to the work that I only have done. 

I get to know this because I stalk their Google Calendar. It’s just weird. I’m not insecure or anything, I’ve been mostly rated well. It’s just odd. 

This just didn’t happen before and lately has started.
Anyone faced this and knows how to address it?

The only good thing is salary as of now.

Should I take this opportunity seriously? Any advice?

Should I choose a job opportunity just for money

Next month I will be getting laid off. Our startup is shutting down because of no funding I am a frontend dev there it's almost 5months I have been working there before that I worked for 8 months as a frontend intern in another startup.
My question is what is the main platform I need to focus on or any technique or anything you want to say that might help me to find a new job pls do comment It would be super helpful. If you were in my position what step you would take or any technique you would use that might help you to get a job easily without waiting for months?

So I joined a startup on Oct, 23(6 months completed).  They are struggling to raise funds. From Jan, they started layoffs from ops and customer support, went to major cost-cutting: no tea, snacks, giving the floor to rent, restricting the leaves: like for leave, you have to get approval from HR and the CEO, not the manager.  I'm in a tech team, and multiple products are lined up for release, so work is there, but ultra micro-managing. I'm getting opportunities but I'm not sure whether to switch or not. 

I leave my last job in 5 months due to their funding issue. That's why I'm skeptical to leave or not. 

Would love to hear advice.

To switch or not

Previously I worked in Persistent Systems for 2 years. Recently my hr called me to share the screen and resign. They have given me 7 days time to submit laptop and all the assets, leave the company. I just want to understand can't we do anything if they asked to do force resign. Because I have been in this company for 2 years, past 6 months they started doing this for atleast 40 employees per month only from my branch Hyderabad . Now it has become per week because they don't have projects and lot of projects are going to end in few months and already few projects moved out because when I spoked with senior in the company they are saying projects signed for 5 year's contract has now not interested to move. I asked  why because of internal company politics, favouritism, fake and backdoor employees, over commitment due to these projects are not delivered in given deadline. How employees Will look for another oppurtunity in 7 days, also in my case when said to my recruiter that I am laid off they didn't schedule interview call then I changed my plan started saying them that I am having offer of A from x company going to join in next 15 days, then they shared scheduling interview. 
Won't there be any legal action we can take on employer as an employee in this cases.

For these 6 months I have given my day n night to this job only to get to know that due to no projects in pipeline they are not going to convert any of the interns to full time. 
That's why I'm looking for opportunities now. 
I am full stack developer having done work in React.js, Kotlin, springBoot, postgresql . Also for design framework I'm well customed in Material UI. 
Also I have made some personal projects in react native nowadays.

Last year March, I was hired as Growth & Marketing Lead in one of the companies abroad at 30LPA (Remote). Now, they are shutting the project I’m in and have received a notice. 

I’m a Marketer by profession with expertise in 0-1 growth in startups. I’ve 8 YOE. Now the problem is, 0-1 startups in India can’t afford me easily and other startups say I don’t have experience in series B and further kind of startups. 

If 0-1 have got good funding amount, they still want to hire someone who has experience of scaling Series A and further kind of startups. 

The basic chicken and egg problem. 

Although I’m trying to apply for the companies abroad, I’m super confused what should I do now. I’ve emergency funds to sustain 3 months but don’t want to rely on that.

I've 3 yoe, currently working in a very small startup as full-stack dev. Company's revenue is declining from Q4 last year.

Every month layoffs are happening in each team. Last week, a dev was laid off from my team.

No hike till now, working here from last 1.5 years. Although, got performance bonus twice.

I want to work on a few ideas, tried to work on weekends but it led to burn out and started affecting my health, suffered from mental fatigue.

Please suggest.

Work on own startup vs switch to another startup

I got laid off in Jan. Took 4 months to land a job finally and joined a new company in May.
This new company seems to be silently laying off people now in the name of cost cutting and likely be trying to raise next round of funding although they previously raised previous round in Aug-2022.
Although right now it's more of they need me (my role, I'm the only person of this role) more than I need them, I'm 70% confident that I might not be impacted, but the 30% chance is keeping me sleepless. What do I do? Pretty traumatized from the first layoff.

Guys & gals, I've been put on 3 months notice. Been working from home, my company (a startup) suddenly wants me to come to the office but I can't relocate immediately due to financial & familial responsibilities, so they're laying me off.

I have 2.5 yoe with Angular, but am extremely interested in learning other tech too (React/Vue/any other frontend framework, mobile dev with React Native/Ionic, Node/Go for backend). I'm confident that I'll be able to pick stuff up quickly with a bit of time & support.

Prefer WFH but I'm open to relocation if the offer is good enough.

Would appreciate any leads 🙏 I'm the sole earner in the family and the news has shaken me up mentally. Things are tense at home because of the strained finances. Been applying from the past 2 weeks but no calls yet (early I know, but still). At this point I'll take any opportunity to keep afloat.
