Layoff in India vs US
Living in India, there exists a stigma around hiring laid-off employees, a mindset that lacks the maturity to comprehend life's inevitable fluctuations. It's disheartening to observe this perspective, especially when considering the experiences of team members in the US, who faced a similar situation but managed to secure employment. This disparity in mindset may be one reason why individuals hesitate to return to India after experiencing the professional landscape in the US. Indian recruiters & hiring managers need to come out & change mindset about laid off engineers & managers. This is truly killing the entire ecosystem.
In USA, being laid off is a news
In India, Getting a job is the news.
Hope u got the difference

For that recruiters need mind which they dont have. They want to hire employees by taking advantage of the situation and get juice out of that.
Mindset is the main reason why india is behind the US ecosystem.
What's with that phrase "get juice out of them"?! We are not lemons
Is it some silicon valley lingo?

So true... When a man is without job that's when they will low ball and have the guts to say "you don't have a job now why don't you take it?"..
to add here - the overall corporate ecosystem is fairly mature in US vis-a-vis India. Also the talent in US is more assertive in terms of their choices/preferences.
If you apply the above two factors in India and add getting the best bang for your buck - you arrive at a situation where unless you the quality of your professional network is great - securing a job after a layoff becomes increasingly difficult as you climb the corporate ladder.
