Some days ago my manager asked me not to get too involved in informal conversation with a female colleague. According to she, it can affect my appearance and hence my ratings :) 
The Nazi idiot missed part that Slavery is already abolished in our society and I am free to talk/flirt responsibly with whoever I like, as long as other person won’t mind in any space. 
Do you guys have this level experience with toxic/dumb managers ?

I graduated this year and have been working as an intern in this company for a few months, full time now. And at first, everything seemed okay. People were okay to talk to, the managers were polite, etc. But as I've gotten to know them better.....all I see is the silent drama that goes on about the most petty things. My 35-ish manager has the ego of a 15 year old teenager and thinks he's hiding it well by talking 'nicely'. There's this whole unsaid division in the team where one side is the suck-ups and they're all best friends with each other and have this "us and them" thing going and no points for guessing, the manager loves them. They'll literally share every little thing with the guy, basically snitching on the rest of the people. And the other people are just at odds with the manager and his gang for whatever reason. The other day, the manager passed a comment about 'masturbation' on some other guy. This kinda thing really makes me not want to work here.

Apologies if this feels unstructured, I'm tired after a 10-hour work day.

[Rant] Office politics is very draining.

I'll go first: "I want you to focus on doing good work and not on how much money you're making." Achchha aur mera rent kaun dega?

Recently, a friend joined a bank. He was late to office a few times. To “teach him a lesson”, manager “changed his desk”. 

When he asked the reason for this, manager said “this is your punishment for coming late to the office”. 
I mean, is this school-level micromanagement rampant in your org as well?

Not in a bad way, like not calling me something, but openly says MC BC etc 

I am not used to this kind of work environment, but they are 5-7 years my senior and there is no way for me to give feedback

They just insert in random sentence like “Yeh data toh data hua hai bc”

Is this really a common thing? What would you guys do?

My company is only hiring females for most of the positions. Now I dont really care about the gender/race/religion of the people getting hired but they must have right skillset and attitude.

But most of the candidates who have been hired have none of these two. My team has almost 50 percent female candidates but they have been into the team for almost 6 months but still don't perform upto the mark. In some cases, college freshers are able to get the job done faster than these folks. Availability is also a big challenge and it's difficult to approach them to work beyond working hours even for small things that would take 30 mins or 1 hour. They just reply by saying I have logged ofr for the day. And manager would ask a guy to do the job. And let me confirm that the management expect us to be available 24/7 as its a business and operationally driven company.  The manager dont ask females to work after working hours in most of the cases. They only work after working when the entire team is working. If its the individual owner who has to act, tgen it surely goes to any male guy. and everyone is super pissed of because despite working and giving more than 100 percent, the teams productivity doesn't justify the head counts. 

In my experience, diversity hiring should be done with caution. Candidates hired should have almost same level of knowledge and skillset as of the team and they should be told about the work culture, expectations at the time of hiring. Also people who don't need a job should avoid joining such culture as they aren't not sincere about their job and will be hated by everyone in the team due to these differences.

Recently When I raised this concern to my manager, he said that I should avoid saying all this as it or else if this goes to HR, cases of posh may be slaaped onto me. I am really pissed off, planning to change the job asap. Not sure what kind of work culture have we created....

I worked for a thailand company remotely and recently things took a turn where the management said we don’t want remote employees and only want Thai native speakers. 

They were struggling with english already. 

I have 6yoe but now i got laid off by them with 2months severance. I am looking for a new remote job but market is dry. I was getting 50L.
