Moving in banglore

I am moving in banglore and will be earning plenty, around 1.6 lakhs per month. But some friends are suggesting me to book a pg for some days until you find the perfect apartment with good flatmates. I don't want to live alone in 1bhk flat. It will be my first time on a onsite job. Please guide me how can I mange this. Company is giving me first 2 weeks of hotel stay

If you’re living by yourself for the first time then its helpful to share with another person. Even though you might not interact a lot but its always good from a safety, and social pov. However another issue is that person needs to match your mindset somewhat. There are people who keep records of 1 rupee payment, get annoyed if you have friends over. Not judging them bcos everyone has their own budget and privacy. However when choosing your flatmate - openly discuss all requirements related to finances, visitors, if they’re comfortable with bf/gf over, veg-non veg, timings, help around the house and hygiene (Ive seen people refusing to empty the kitchen bin for days bcos the maid wasn’t there). In the end considering all these factors, people prefer to live by themselves 😂

Bro off topic but what's your YOE and tech stack and total CTC and last CTC? Just trying to understand the market, struggling to find a satisfactory job myself

My YoE is 2.5 years, I got CTC of 26, earlier it was 15.

Congratulations bro and tech stack? Don't worry about the house. Just go to Flat and Flatmates group Bangalore and write your needs.

1 month in PG ain't a bad advice. You get a hang of the area, traffic and scout our flats with lower deposits.

Don't get too comfortable in PG and remember that you will be spending 20k/pm on flat later on. I have teammates who are making 2.5l/pm and living in 14k/pm PG coz flats are 'too expensive'.

Also, 1.6lpm doesn't go as far in Bangalore as it would in NCR. Heads up.

I hope it would be enough to cover my expenses atleast.. I just want good quality low spicy food there 😂

You don't have to stay in a 1bhk/1rk if you don't want to. There are many Facebook groups for finding flats and flatmates where people post when their current flatmates are vacating.
Just join some group, and keep an eye on any relevant flats that match your criteria. There are also groups for specific areas. You can talk to folks and schedule visits vlose to your moving time. In the 2 weeks you stay in office accommodation, visit all these places and see if you can finalise a not. If you can't find something good in 2 weeks, take a PG and then continue this.

Flat and Flatmates Bangalore and same for HSR

Agreed with your friend. I wish I would have done this instead of rushing into a flat with flatmates that I regret.

If you are finding a room in hsr post it on X and also join a discord community named " HSR Is Home ", would be easy to find something.

2 weeks is enough to find flats. Actively check on twitter and facebook groups

2 weeks is enough to scope out a perfect 1rk or 1bhk for you and I think 2 weeks may be good enough for you to search for a flatmate too. PG is another choice, won't recommend pg if you're someone who cares about personal space and hygiene.
