Moving to Delhi instead of WFH

I have permanent WFH and have been doing the same since 1 year. But now I feel I'm missing out on things that my friends living in Delhi are doing. For context: I have a girlfriend, would love to live with her. Have friends that are all in Delhi. Yes, the money is piling up in my account but I feel like I am having no memories of my 20s. I had college in lockdown. And now job at home. I don't go out, have no friends here. Just wake up, work, sleep. Don't feel like going anywhere. Thinking about moving to Delhi but 20-25k per month is making me skeptical about it. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Saving 20k now will not make much difference instead invest this in your life to get better in job and get more exposure. Going to Delhi will make you happy and you will be more motivated to move up in your pay grade. If you save 20k now and invest it in MF also it will not make much difference, once you start earning more you can make that kind of money in a month but you will not get to relieve those months of happiness again.

That's true. Thanks, will invest some towards my happiness too 🙂

Bro I've literally the same story. Got permanent wfh was doing it at home since last one year and then started feeling like I'm loosing connections and grip on my career and this month settled in delhi. The only difference in our stories is that I don't have gf but i have hope in that part too as currently I'm stuck in a complicated relationship. Wish me luck Finger crossed 🤞

My in hand is almost same as you. Currently living in Saket and sometimes feel very bad as i don't have friends here and family is in another state.
Money is a factor but now i started connecting industry experts and with that I think I'll be able to switch my job soon.

What's your total CTC? Just curious since you're getting 50k/month and I'm trying to figure out my in hand for a new company.

Around 7 will give you around 50k

Yep, mine is 7.25, as per my calculations it will come to around 53-54k but you can never be sure until the payslip comes

Off topic, but you work at Sapient. Is the situation really bad in Sapient about projects and bench?

I mean I have a stable project so it's fine for me. But yes, being on bench here is anxiety inducing. I had been 3 months on bench and I hated every bit of it. No pressure from above but there was just nothing to do and there was this constant fear of getting layed off. But if you are communicating with your people manager that you're working on your skills, giving exam certifications, it can get you far in sapient. People that are here are staying for like 4-5 years.

Okay, thanks for the information 🙏

Go, live it. You're making 50k a month, don't think about saving 10-15k right now, have fun, make memories, get a better job, start filling your pockets then.
