No you're not missing out on anything. You can move to metro cities because your friends are there but remember they all will move on eventually. Right now you're at a position to save money and have minimal commute. So use it well.
You're gonna be attending the same zoom calls in office, only difference is you will have to commute for 2 hours, pay 20% of your salary as rent. It's not worth it.

If you want to meet with friends just plan for a gettogether once a month and you travel there. Or if you really want to get a feel of metro life, rent a room and live there for 1 month.

No bro. You are not missing anything. Work for yourself, save money and do some investments every month. You are eventually saving money while doing WFH. If you go to Bangalore or some metro city, you will end up paying 20-30% in rent from your salary. Use this money for investment or else travel somewhere. 😁

If you don't have friends or to social circle in your hometown, then yes, you are missing things. Other than that, from a financial pov wfh is a better decision.
Would suggest traveling for a few months to Bangalore, meet friends do things, and come back.

If you are young, you should try to expand your life circles and move out of your hometown(comfort zone). Have more life experiences, see the vibe of the city and your office. Learn from serendipitous conversations that will never happen on a zoom call.
All in all, just go for it.
