Hi, try for a decent hike in this environment. Get experience and move out. You won’t get insane hike but try for somewhere between 10 to 20 percent. You can also ask to folks who’re already at that level some rough range.

Hey good folks, I’ve have had a decent long career of 9 years now, started with finance for 1 year switched quickly to category/program/ business facing roles for the longest time, I have worked in various edtechs - notable Unacademy initial days, currently working for a fintech company, I have a very good interest in tech as a whole for a long time, product management is the best role for me move forward and switch, I wanted to know a way to switch or learn in the right way, do courses work ? Will only practical experience work ? 

P.s not exactly a newbie in the space, I’ve identified problems, ideated, built and solved problems via features, functionality and process all in the purview of product + results - one of the reason why I find it extremely interesting

I am currently getting 12 LPA with 18 months of experience.

I wanted to know if I am underpaid. If yes, how should I prepare myself to get referred to better companies?

I am currently working as an APM at a start up (Series B) with 4 YOE (2.5 years into product) and Masters level qualification (not MBA). 

My current CTC is 14.65 (13.65 + 1). Don’t think it’s fair as per market standards. Any comments?

I've great EQ and IQ, and have always been the person to get the work done. Hold a TATA Value Award as well. Due to some unfortunate turn of events, I had to go through a bad phase and took time off for 2-3 months in early 2024. Now, I've got few offers but not happy with the offered CTC. Year 2- 3.75 lpa salary normalisation and role changed to PMO
Year 2.5- 5.5 lpa joined another service based company
Year 3 - 6 lpa joined startup as Edtech program manager 
Year 4- 8 lpa with hike same role
Year 6- 11 lpa promotion senior program manager 
Year 7- 16lpa joined another start up as tech program manager/scrum master 
Year 7.5- put down paper got retained didn’t match salary but promotion and hike 22lpa role changed to Product manager
Year 8- 30lpa product manager another start up

From Associate Software engineer to PMO to Program manager/Scrum Master to Product Manager 

Starting salary 2016- 2.75lpa
Current salary 2024- 30lpa ( have two offers might get better offer than this) 

Note- number is only fixed component of salary 

Advice- Take risk and it doesn’t matter what role you are in whether you are a developer , QA, sales person, marketing or CS just be good in whatever role you do, work hard and show your work be visible and be very very good at communication!

I'm working as a technical product manager who has transitioned from analytics/data science role with over 5+ yoe and 2yoe as PM. I am earning in the range of 35-55LPA right now. While I am happy with the salary, I am not content with the role I have performed as PM so far. When I go for textbookish PM tasks and roles, I feel I don't do so much in my daily routine. Because of the nature of companies I worked in I didn't get a lot of hands on exposure into UX and the growth side of the job.

I don't have a lot of confidence with many areas of product management and feel like at this stage for me to grow needs a significant skill and confidence boost. To do the same I'm looking for courses/degrees. I'm hoping to get more better opportunities if I have certification in my portfolio.

What are your thoughts on the topic? Also, if you could suggest whether Hero vired certification in product management partnered with INSEAD will be a good choice? I will really appreciate objective feedback / frameworks that will help me with making the decision.

Hi All, I'm working as a PM in a private bank. Prior to this I had worked as a Business PM in another bank 😅
My experience is that work expectations, KRAs of bank PMs are not in line with what is standard. Mostly stuck with meaningless work, getting very few conceptual projects. Feel like I am a glorified BA, who receives additional shit shovelling from senior mgmt.
Unable to get in depth experience in any vertical.
Earning 20LPA, experience 2.8 years. 

Need advise should I move out of PM and target Biz roles?

I work in a fintech company. Revenue and growth wise we are good, we just got acquired by a large internet platform too. Also, last year has been a tremendous learning for me as well. I like being PM but looking to move out of my current industry (lending) as I want to explore other domains and I feel like my CTC here is somewhat low (18.5 + 1.5 bonus) considering my experience (around 4.5 years). My boss said that I will get ESOPS (around 10 lacs) which I can liquidate around 50% this year. Should I wait for my appraisal to complete (will happen around April) and look to switch or should I start preparing for interviews now itself?

1- MBA from Normal xyz college will give a low yield
2- MBA from Ivy league will take time to crack and complete.
3- PMP course just for the sake of it
4- Pmp course from ISB or Keylogg to actually learn it
