I don’t have any hate for any religion! Just sharing my experience, hoping more people will become aware about the ongoing scam.

I encountered a group of 3-4 Sikhs today at baner-pashan road who are defrauding in the name of some Gurudwara saying there is langar being organised on New Year.

These guys will cornered me telling are you a sikh and started telling me about the guru nanak jayanti and langar event which they want to conduct at a gurudwara nearby, then they gave me a picture of guru nanak and said this is for free and you don't have to pay anything for it, then they asked me to write my name on a diary and there was some amount written besides each name. I was alone, and they were multiple, also the place was away from shops and people, therefore I tried to avoid any conflict since they had kripan(knife) so I gave them 501 rupees and escaped the situation.

After coming, and I searched this incident and found exact scams going on in delhi or mumbai.

I hope this post helps people be careful and avoid these low life scammers destroying the name of Sikhism and Guru Nanak. Report to a nearby Police officer if possible.

PS - this post isn't to target sikhism, as a practicing hindu, i have no reason to disrespect them, i just want to warm that is it actually a scam.

I came to Bangalore 2 weeks ago. this is my first time visit to Bangalore. One fine day I was casually walking to my PG after having a tea at chai house. in the middle of a road a person with his newborn baby and wife approach me with folding hands. He asked me if I speak hindi. I nodded, then he said Iam from Maharashtra and he came here for job, but his master has kicked him out and not given him salary. He has no money for food and to travel back. He asked me to give him 300. I sensed it might be scam but being an emotional guy I thought 300 is not a big deal. I said I don't have cash but I can pay via phonepe. he showed me his qr on mobile. A thought ran in my mind does he has no one who he can call and ask for online money if he has working smart phone. when I started typing the amount 300 he said sir 300 for one person, pls pay for my wife too. I said I only have this much money only. I paid and walked off quickly. I think I'm scammed but it could be a genuine case too. 

tell me guys have you faced/heard this before. this might probably aware someone in future.

Is this a new scam?

Okay, so this happened to me last year. I was approached by a college alumni (got my number from college alumni group) who told me he had a side business going on which was leading him to earn more money than his corporate job and that he was going to leave the corporate for his “business”.

I was initially not interested but he was insistent and also I was looking to explore some options (may be my naïveté) that I asked him more and so he setup a call with his senior to explain more about this “business”.

Now this senior gave all sorts of gyaan regarding how to reach financial independence and picking up on the general mindset of how to make more money. They asked to create a list of 10 things that I desired the most at the point of time which could be solved with more money. I complied thinking it was a good exercise (again, I was a big fool). Now I was connected with another senior who gave all sorts of gyaan regarding how I could make more money and lead to financial independence.

Please note, during all this time I was constantly asking what the business idea was and how it would be achieved but got no response on the details and only white washing regarding how I should be prepared to do anything to achieve my dreams.

Now, it was revealed that I would need to put in 5L as investment to get bigger returns. Since I did not have that money in handy, I was suggested to get a personal loan through their agents. Also not to inform this to parents because they won’t understand this stuff and get “worried”. Luckily I did went with their suggestion and informed my parent about it. Thinking it was a startup idea, I got the investment from my father through an OD in my name.

Now we get onto a call two days later, where they reveal the company QNet and makes me purchase 5L of stuff from their website and explained the business model which was to get other people from your knowing to buy products from this company and get commissions on the sale.

Bruh... what even?! It's a well known scam. I don't understand how you were ready to put in 5L of your money without going for a simple google search.  
  
 All these IIT/NIT/IIM/AIIMS means they cracked a certain exam. It has nothing to do with guaranteed moral values or even basic common sense. Lesson learnt the hard way I guess.

**News Flash:**

Hi everyone, there is a new WhatsApp stock market scam happening right now. It starts with a random person messaging you, usually with a woman's profile picture, offering free stock market tips. If you agree, they send you a link to join a group. In the group, they conduct two live broadcasts daily, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. They pay you to watch these broadcasts continuously for three days, along with some data pack recharges.

Initially, the broadcasts appear professional, discussing market indices and suggesting stocks. After about a week, they start promoting a "700% wealth surge plan" on your initial investment. They claim that the consulting services you're currently enjoying are worth Rs 50,000 for this quarter. If the 700% gain is achieved, you must pay consulting fees and revenue sharing for two quarters. The fees depend on the information service you choose for the next quarter. If the 700% profit is not achieved, no fees are charged, and future cooperation allows you to choose your desired service level freely.

The stocks they suggest also surge, and people in the group keep posting their profits and praising the "professor" named Hardik. When it comes to the 700% surge plan, they introduce a twist: they ask you to download an app or visit a website to sign up with your Aadhar number. They claim this "Preferred Asset Account" has several advantages:

1. It allows for pre-market trading.
2. It has priority trading rights when purchasing Upper Circuit stocks.
3. The success rate of subscribing to IPOs is higher compared to a regular Demat account.

Believing it to be genuine, you might add your money. Initially, you make good profits, but soon you realize you can't withdraw your money, and eventually, you are blocked by everyone.

The company behind this scam is IEF (International Equity Funds), operated by Meera Patel, Hardik Shah, and Ami Shah from the USA. If you Google them, you won't find any legitimate information. There are also multiple company names associated with this scam, according to my research. Be aware and never fall for these scams with unrealistic profits. Always use trading apps approved by the government, do your research, and be mindful.

I have tried contacting people who have listed properties on 99acres/housing/no broker and the people who recieved my call(almost 99%) told me that I need to deposit 1000 or 1500 INR(only via online payment), upon receiving which they will create a visiting card for me. Once I have the visiting card, the property manager would be meeting me on the premises. Something seems fishy and leads me to not trust them.

Has anyone else encountered a similar situation? Please list your experience.

I was in Mumbai this weekend and I was having street food in Ghatkopar. I heard someone whispering but ignored. When I turned around I saw three people, 2 guys and 1 girl. I continued enjoying my food when I saw that the girl behind me had left and dropped some money. I walked up to her and told her about it.

I bent down to pick it up when the other two guys bumped into me. I think they were cloning my card all this while, I will explain why I think that. I asked them if something was wrong and they said No and went away. 

I checked today morning and 16,731 were deducted at some weird merchant in USA. I was confused, so I instantly blocked all my cards. I have contacted the bank about this fraud as well. 

I am confused: I did not do any transaction on any website that looked shady nor did I give my details out to anyone. The only thing that explains this is that they cloned my credit card and this was their strategy. How to comfirm this? Please help.

In March 2023, a man received a call from someone claiming to be a recruitment executive for a global carmaker's India unit. 

They convinced him he was shortlisted for a senior position but asked for a fee of Rs 1,600 to register. 

The scammers kept asking for more money over five months, including Rs 28,000 for a uniform, Rs 80,000 for a check-up, and Rs 2.4 lakh as a salary advance. .

However, after paying around Rs 24 lakh in around 40 transactions, the man realized that he had been cheated

How and why people fall for these? Also how they make over 40 transactions? 

Also a lot more people have fallen for scams than I initially thought. It's only when you tell them a story about other scams they tell their story.

So finally, someone spoke about this fraudulent startup AstroTalk. How they operate and how they take advantage of gullible people, is completely explained in the video. These kinds of startups need to be busted on LinkedIn and other social media platforms so that no one calls prey for such cheap tactics. This is just another BYJUs in the making. The cofounder is an IIT IIM grad. Shows how greed can even pollute the minds of even highly educated people. Really don't understand how the VCs can be so fucking dumb, funding them with 165 Crores!! Shocking but it isn't surprising since the Indian Startup ecosystem is filled with such scam artists.

Jab tak hum jaise log IIM/IITians ki G chaat te rahenge tab tak ye hume chutiya banate rahenge. 4 din baad tum chutiye sab bhool jaoge fir kisi naye IIT/IIM led startup ko linkedin par praise karoge jab tak wo bubble itna bada na ho jaye ki use criticise kar pao…fir kisi anonymous platform par aajakr “OMG SO FUCKING DISGUSTING” bold doge kyuki linkedin par to tumhari gaand thandi ho jati hai kisi ko criticise karte hue…aur ye cycle bas chalta rahega…so moral of the story is, tum hi log chutiye ho wo nahi.
