On notice period !

So we had a town hall meet today with our entire vertical. And we reached to a point of AMA’s where people had asked some concerns directly with the CEO. There was a question, that how can achieve work Life balance to which he responded saying that it is not possible, we want to become the best company that we will surly become, but if you are expecting work life balance put down your papers today. Next there are people living very far away (30-40 km in banagalore) and asked for wfh on Saturdays, he said that please shift near by don’t use that as an excuse for anything. (I don’t know if he realises that people with with their families here and the deposit you would have to pay just be near your job location) Adding on to job security, he said we have not fired anyone, if you are performing as expected you don’t have to worry. (They have fired over 15 people last month) He also said that we need to focus on our work and only be more worried about how to be more productive and nothing else. So we are going to continue working hard and we are not going to make any changes. Another person asked about appraisals, and we got a disappointing reaction again from him saying that you should not be worried about it, but won’t be getting any appraisals in coming time. I am not sure what is happening here anymore!

Hi all, It’s been more than 4 years in TCS. I have been trying to switch for last 6 months. Received some calls from HRs but as soon as they hear TCS and NOT ON NOTICE PERIOD, their response immediately changes. They will tell you that they will share interview details but they won’t. I have also tried lying about notice period with different different excuse but still they would not believe it. Now i am thinking about putting in my papers and continue looking. Maybe reducing the notice period will help but it looks a big risk in current scenario. What should i do?

I have lost all motivation to work from the day I resigned. I am faking updates, sometimes delaying stuff uselessly. I dont work but later I do feel guilty about it. What to do guys?

Hey guys, I'm on notice period and I left my job because of the bad conditions and unhelpful team and messed up mental health. I have 2 months notice which started 3rd july I wanted to know can the company do anything if my performance in notice period is bad. Basically if I get the work, I'll try to deliver but 8 won't be messing up my mental health if I'm not able to deliver. I plan to simply say that, sorry i tried but I'm not able to figure it out. If someone helps me its fine and if not then I'll continue to say it. Can the company do anything if I keep a good behaviour and not deliver tasks.

Can we deny working on new stuff in notice period and just focus on KTs ? Or are we bound to work on whatever is thrown at you while serving notice. I am going to decline new work, what implications it can have?

Despite meeting all targets, I've been put under PIP. The HR is saying that I have one month to improve my performance or I'll be asked to leave, and that too without severance. I just want to know if there are similar policies at your company? Means are you not eligible for severance if you are being asked to leave under PIP?

I'm a frontend dev with 4 YOE, currently in a mid sized organisation. TC : 10LPA NP: 3 months I feel I've been ripped off, I wanna switch but it's tough coz of a quarter long notice period. How unfair is 3 month notice and Gimme some pointers on dealing with it.

here is a question, with the current layoff situation peaking cross places, in the eventuality that a company decides to let you go, is it their benovalence that they expect you to not work in your notice period or is it that they are obligated to do so? to add context: 1 they ask you to put in your papers 2. they also offer you to continue post notice on contract (but you are obviously bumped enough to not work there!) what is it that one can do to get off the work from day 1 of notice period? look forward to your input here.... ps: I am hoping they are obligated but then on paper, they ask you to resign!
