Need to switch but not getting positive response
Hi all, It’s been more than 4 years in TCS. I have been trying to switch for last 6 months. Received some calls from HRs but as soon as they hear TCS and NOT ON NOTICE PERIOD, their response immediately changes. They will tell you that they will share interview details but they won’t. I have also tried lying about notice period with different different excuse but still they would not believe it. Now i am thinking about putting in my papers and continue looking. Maybe reducing the notice period will help but it looks a big risk in current scenario. What should i do?
If that’s the case, I would suggest you to wait for sometime till the market cools off a bit. People are not getting shortlisting calls at this moment. Putting down papers might be risky.
Actually the work here is also redundant. Just Manual deployment and Testing. I have been learning most of the things on my own in DevOps field. Don’t want to add useless time as experience in TCS. That’s why eager to leave.
I understand bro. What I mean to say is it’s really risky to put down papers without any backup at this time. Try to upskill when you get time after your job and keep looking out for opportunities. I have heard you can slash down your notice to 60-75 days in these companies if you clear all dependencies by that time.
If you really want to put down papers and then apply for jobs, I’ll suggest you do that in winter hiring season around December when there’s a higher chance to get a call. All the best!

Buddy the market is kinda rough these days. I am not sure if the risk is worth taking or not.
Complete your 5 years, get your well deserved gratuity. TCS also has upskill plan, if you clear the test you get salary bump as well as project in that field. My friend did the same. The market most probably will cool off after election in US and India are over. You will get a better package this way.
Bro don’t take risks. Wait for sometime till the market gets improved say 5-6 months.
Bro, don't worry about the market. It's ok to switch. No issues. And regarding the notice period, I'll be truly honest with you. If your resume is strong enough, they will wait for you for 1 year...3 months is a very small period. Yes, they do have some issue with 3 months but as long as you are a strong candidate, they will have no problem waiting for you. I was in the same boat as you. I also blamed Infy and notice period but after strengthening my resume, they were of the least concern. Switched with multiple offers in hand😄
Didn't find that to be true in current market but that may be the case. Did you switch recently as well?
At 3 month in current market getting offer is too difficult after resigning there is high possibility of getting a switch with hike but some risk is there. I may be wrong
Bro I am also facing the same problem from December trying to switch but not getting enough opportunities to attend interviews also. Once they hear I m from TCS and 90 days notice period same as your case they start to behave differently everytime they say they will forward but they never do. I am also in dilemma whether to resign and search or just search? Even if I sit for interview, interviewers don't show up, afterwards If I mail or call I don't get any response Sometimes it seems they just doing ghosting hiring just for the sake. It's a big question mark what to do. ⁉️
Current market outlook is not in favour of job switch. Please be careful, putting paper without job in hand would be damn silly thing.
