Overvalued People

I strongly feel most of the white collar workers are overvalued. By the time GPT 6 comes(Probably in 2-3 years), 80% jobs will become automated. How are you planning for this wave of change that is coming?

One often wonders the life utility of children's stories. What's the point of simple plot-lines and a very pointed causation that demonstrates a moral value at the end. Presenting a redux of the all time classic - Chicken Little. The sky is falling. The same story has been in motion since the time a caveman rubbed two stones together and discovered fire. Transformations in technology have caused tectonic upheavals which have always ruptured the social and economic fabric of humanity - the wheel, the steam engine, the Industrial revolution, the internet, computerization, etc. Nothing happens. The sky isn't falling. No one is overvalued in perpetuity. People adapt and find newer ways to add value. Synthesise your thoughts from understanding history. This is likely going to be a decade or two long transition. PS > I'm going to farm and find John Connor, wherever he is.

Not really, by the time GPT6 comes there are more valuable jobs in Software, we would be seeing how productivity go up in software. Automated software development won't happen atleast for next 20 years or so

Crisis coming for White collar job

AI is unlike any other past technology revolution. It is going to make cost of intelligence trending toward zero. Going by exponential curve of AI growth, in next 3-4 years, we are going to have an AI model which can code better than 95% of coders... Deep mind already has model Alphacode which can code better than 50% of competitive coders. People are living in fool's paradise by thinking that AI will create massive amount of job.... It won't because it will make cost of intelligence near to zero making coding, analyst, consultant, product management job redundant.... What takes 100 coders to build a product won't take more 10 coders in few years from now...

Dealing with GPT impact

How are you planning to deal with upcoming GPT-4/5 impact? I am on a testing version through a company license and this thing is scary good. I don’t see companies hiring the way they used to anymore when half the engineers/designers/product people + GPT can do the same job. Are you anxious? Planning to switch to a country with better safety nets? Move fields with less automation and stress? Or not worried at all? :-)

Jobs which will be created /not impacted by AI

A lot of noise around AI taking coding jobs, which i fear might be real. Like not completely but you get my point. So how should one upskill themselves (especially the average folks, top 1/2% will not be affected in any field imo) for the upcoming shift? Like will data analytics/science or maybe ai/ml engineering jobs be on rise ? Should be start upskilling in those fields or any other suggestions? I would really like to know it from someone who has good experience in the industry or someone with good insight. Thanks

GPT 4.5 is right around the corner, friends. Total automation is not necessarily total elimination as some of it is displacement only. But a large chunk will be total elimination. 100 million white collar jobs are a lot. India has a few million white collar jobs in total. Even America doesn't have 100 million white collar jobs.

Coding will be dead soon

That's not what am saying or pre assuming. But the brain behind those supercomputers h100 and all, who is making LLMs train faster. GPT 5.0 can do miracles and imagine 8.0 coupled with those 1nm GPUs. I still believe that not 100% can be replaced but yes 60-70% roles will be redundant. Top 10% will survive and thrive if ride the ai wave. What do u think viners?

Software engineers been real quiet since Devin AI dropped

It's basically an AI software engineer that can solve GitHub issues end-to-end. My prediction about AI agents being capable of doing most white-collar jobs by 2025 is on track.
