If he opts for 1800, then only 1800 rs will get deducted from his monthly salary and the company will also have to pay only 1800 rs in the EPF account. Otherwise if he goes for 12% basic which has a max cap of 15k , the company will also put in 15k per month in the EPF account. A total of 30k per month to EPF will definitely give good returns in future.
