Rant on Swiggy wlb

Work culture has become ultra toxic. Managers have started nano managing and literally are a pain in the ass. Product giving unrealistic timelines and leadership agreeing on the same without even consulting the developers and even if the developers are raising concerns, no fucks are given infact they are made to realise that this is how a startup should work. Literally everyone is working their asses off and still unable to meet the deadlines. Empathy is completely lost and WLB is a sham. People including me want to switch but are not even getting time to prepare.

This is all trickling down from the Leadership, they are trying to cut down costs by any means. Already had one round of layoffs, now they are doing silent layoffs in the form of PIPs.

Also, Leaders have lost the long term focus and are trying to find out more and more short term projects related to profitability.

There was always this pressure of work, but in the past 7-8 months this has become unbearable with no empathy in the organisation.

Not every other but every single fkng startup. Bhai ek new startup join Kiya hu aaj 15th day tha, 19 tickets assigned hogaye hai 1st day se. Mujhe code se leke tech stack tak nahi aata aur har week 1 to 1 me bolta hai Hume ye expectations nahi thi ki itna time lagega aur tech stack nahi aata hoga jabki Maine clearly bataya tha bahot baar unhe join karne ke pehle. Koi KT nahi kuch nahi, mujhe lag raha hai ki 15 din nahi 15 saal hogaye hai. Mujhe jitna Banta hai mai karta hu abhi tak 8-9 tickets solve kar diye hai jisme ki bug solving aur new feature development bhi hai. Mujhe lag raha zyada din nahi tik paunga yaha pe. Baki har din EOD pe 2 logon ko 1 Co-founder aur 1 Manager/Lead ko report karna padta hai. Kal Maine 7 baje log off kardiya toh mujhe Huddle pe aane ko bola gaya ki q itna jaldi?

Kaam Mai subah 9 baje se start karta hu. Weekends pe bhi padhta hu ki thoda samjh aajaye.

YOE - 11 months hai bas Bhai.

Bhai company name nahi bata sakta startup hai kafi Kam log hai. Thoda mujhe JavaScript aati thi HTML, CSS wagerah. Par bhai itna zyada expectations aur kaam Bina kisi help ke no guidance. Maine ek 4+ year dev se puch liya bas itna ki Bhai ye nested accordion bana hai toh apne website me kis flow me Jane se dikhega qki code maine dekha tha but kaise dikhta hai nahi pata tha aur waise hi banana tha.

Toh usne manager ko boldiya ki bina research kiye mai aagaya puchne aur vo us baat se chidh gaya. Baki maine bande ko bola ki mujhe nahi lagta ki mera question galat tha qki mujhe abhi poore product ka flow nahi pata hai aur Maine try Kiya par Mila nahi, aur maine code nahi pucha tha bas website me jaha hai usko dekhne ke liye pucha tha

They are trying to bring down the cost and become profitable. By laying off, there will be expenditure but making employees leave on their own, they will have savings to make it till the IPO. Also, the second path they are following is putting employees in PIP in mass - silent layoff.

The idea of stressing employees is to force them to quit. And by not giving enough time in day is to ensure employees, dont get to move into a good job. They quit and then search for a job so that the salaries can come down.
