Hiring for a bunch of roles for an early stage startup. Salaries of people who have been laid off is through the roof 2-3 years experience asking for 30-40l and while we chose not to judge the experience and spoke to a few of them, most of them are not even worth half of the pay. Many are jobless since last 2-3 months and none of them are willing to take a paycut of even 5-6L and are willing to stay jobless ( probably have a ton of savings ) Market correction is necessary. I am ready to put more than 70 hours to start and run my own business. Looking for some ideas with certain criteria I have in my mind 1. Scalability - Biz should be scalable enough to reach 100 cr annual turnover, fine if takes mid to long term 2. Margin - should have healthy margin, not looking for VC money to run it 3. Location - setup and operation can be done from anywhere 4. Non-tech - I am not a tech person, so the Biz should be done without hightech IT infra as I want to run the show on my own. Sourcing ideas for myself, because I want to start something my own And for other non-tech people, who are also in the same boat as I am. Let’s see if we get some good ideas here!

Listen folks, you should totally work 70 hours over two weeks. Most of you do already. If you factor in lunch and some tea breaks that you normally take during the course of the day, the most productive hours you put in are about 7 hours a day for 5 days a week. So 70hrs is totally doable. Prove me wrong.

Recently the CHRO of my company called me into a discussion on improving WORK LIFE BALANCE. Wow. I just cannot understand. Look at this. 1. Most companies work 5 days a week. (Except retail operations). So you get 52 weeks x 2. 104 days. 2. 30 days annual leav 3. 9 days statutory holidays. 4. Operational holidays. 3. 145 days of 365 days corporate people don’t come to office. And in a hybrid format even more. It is these corporate vultures who want work life Balance. How can u balance your life if u r unable to do it in 145 days. So Narayana murthy is right - work hard like 80% of india. Who have almost no weekly off. Just saying.
